I understand their points of view, but I like the song so much that I don't care if finally only Jon sings it or is it censored. I think it would have been better if Lorenza had sung his part, but what the hell, it's still a great song.

It is definitely a live take, it does not sound like a studio recording, maybe there is something rework and touched up in the voice, which I am glad, since I feel that everything is fine. It does not have a polished and sophisticated sound, but for what it is, it feels right.

I gotta say Christmas All Over Again was my favorite of the 3. The rest are fine.
But Christmas All Over Again sounds very Jon Bon Jovi.
Of course, I would prefer the classic Please Come Home For Christmas... >_< jaja, but I'm aware of JBJ voice.

bonjovi90 12-08-2020 05:36 AM

Quite enjoyed these three videos. Nothing extraordinary, but a nice addendum to the time leading up to Christmas.

Probably wants to get it played on Radio 1! ;)

It's a ludicrous thing to do; just like singing it all himself. It sucks all the magic out of the song. I said this in another thread but his mispronunciation of Galway is pretty galling.

liljovi93 12-08-2020 12:12 PM

They're ok.

Fairytale would have been better as a duet and I agree with Butters, the pronunciation is bad of Galway.

Christmas Time Again was good but how he pronounces 'time' and 'mine' annoy me.

As always, can't help but think these would have been so much better a few years ago.

They're enjoyable and fun and I'll take it for that but I won't be adding any to my playlist.

I saw one of the videos, really cool. They weren't miming there. And I liked all three songs, Jon sounded natural on them.

... Now I'm looking forward to the concert Dec 15. Hope to see more of 2020 on it's setlist.

About the removing of Luv Can and Shine videos, I think it's because these contents will last one month or so on the Experience, maybe.

I might be misinterpretating, but there says "exclusive Bon Jovi monthly content".

Captain_jovi 12-08-2020 03:41 PM

Interesting. Does anyone know if that word was there prior? And even if so, it only went up end of November. If that were the case pulling it down early December isn't even close to a month.

rolo_tomachi 12-08-2020 03:51 PM

My theory is that they have contracted the basic Vimeo service (more cheap), they can only upload 5 GB per month, with limitations of 500 MB per week. They have had to delete the Luv Can + Shine video to replace it with the Christmas videos, and even then they have had to lower the quality a bit to 1280x720p. Although I could be wrong.

A Vimeo subscription will cost them at the maximum $100/month, this feels bigger than a storage issue.

I don't know, the truth is I don't know. I'm curious how we will get tracks never heard before, in what format will the songs (Mp3, m4a, flac, wav) with... be maybe a download link? or maybe they will be put on vimeo by streaming?

We should make a calendar as they place things, maybe we will get a pattern of every certain number of days to publish.

Videos Q&A from House of Jon and band member Q&A --- October 30?
Video Streaming Live with JBJ and Member Gold --- November 20?
Luv Can & Shine --- November 27
X-mas Videos --- December 7

Since the live: one new thing/week.

The backstage received the vídeos of It's My Life, Prayer, Bad Name, Who Says.. From the On A Night Like This session? Never seen anyone talking about them, although they were recorded.

No, and it's weird, since Jon said something about a Director's Cut from On a Night Like This. I guess it's yet to come.

Unless I missed something, they were supposed to get the directors cut of On a Night Like This with the additional songs when it came out but as far as I know they did not. It's possible LC and Shine were taken down because once they went on YouTube they were no longer exclusive and enough people complained?

Maybe. Also now occurred to me that they can use this footage to be streamed from Apollo Theater, Dec 15, and not be there for a show physically, as announced.

So they already were contacted to play on this event. Released OANLT on facebook, then on youtube. Uploaded Shine and Luv Can on JBJ Exp, they leaked then were taken down. And saved the 6 hits and 2-3 2020's songs for "Play On!" as Jon and Tico already said that "OANLT will be our only peform live in 2020".

1. Shine & Luv Can from On A Night Like This are back at the Experience.
2. The Pogues' song, which is a duet with late singer Kirsty MacColl, came out in 1987, but was recently in the headlines due to the BBC's Radio 1 announcing last month that it would only play a censored version of the song, removing several offensive words in lyrics. In his version, Bon Jovi has gotten around that by rewriting the lyrics to remove the offending words.
3. In other Bon Jovi news, more than a million fans tuned into the band's Facebook page to watch the documentary "On a Night Like This," which featured the band performing its hits as well as songs on the new album, "2020."

There's no hits on BJ facebook or the Experience.

Great that Luv can and Shine Live are back at JBJ Experience. Its audio and video quality is much better than Youtube.

steel_horse75 12-10-2020 12:51 AM

Still bizarre that jbj (and some radio stations) have changed lyric and feel its offensive.

Calling someone a cheap lousy meatball in gravy doesn't quite work....

When people go in food shops and ask for faggotts what do they ask for as not to offend anyone?

What do you think will be the next step in JBJ EX?

Litneg 12-10-2020 11:48 PM

Upload the Christmas concert from '94 in HD a couple of days before the date would be a good call.

This is exciting! Hope he had found some gems in there.

Unfortunately I couldn't read no new names in these pics... There's tapes/k7 of Levon, Ugly, Janie, Learning To Fall, Livin' In Sin and Blood on Blood, Jon's first record, some Bon Jovi demos I couldn't read...

Wish I could spend a week in that room.

Wow. In the top row there's tapes of Talk To Jesus, It's Just Me, one is labelled "Storybook ..."? Wasn't there a song with that name? Or would that just be a collection of song ideas? Anyhow, I'm intrigued! :-)

I'm pretty sure the label says Storybook Story. If it's a cover or a unreleased song, it's hard to tell.

What I can read is Learning How to Fall under that label and I think "Its Just Me" and "I'll Help You Out" to the right.
I'm excited, I would love some unreleased stuff from the DA era.

The song to the left of that is "Talk To Jesus"

Thinny 12-11-2020 01:54 PM

Very interesting that Jon has all this stuff and not the label. I wonder if that means that Jon now owns the masters...?

Litneg 12-11-2020 02:52 PM

Another thing, kinda obvious, but I will say it anyway: those photos show only older stuff. Imagine how many things they have on the Cloud...

wow, there is a lot of material. I hope Jon is generous and shares a lot of things with us. It would be a shame if this never comes to light.

Boxes

The first batches of JBJ EXPERIENCE boxes have already been shipped.

Nige 12-16-2020 01:26 PM

Anyone received a box yet?

True, but we know in our hearts that all the really great stuff is there.

YOVANAfromPeru 12-17-2020 01:43 AM

I saw this on instagram: https://www.instagram.com/p/CI3vCxTFs42/?

Javier 12-17-2020 04:39 AM

How have the reactions to this whole thing been?? Are people generally happy with it? How have they reacted to the boxes?? I've been contemplating this but those boxes don't seem to be worth the extra $$$...

Captain_jovi 12-17-2020 04:56 AM

From that picture, if you care about merch you're getting a pretty good deal from what they normally charge. If you want anything more, nahhhh.

It will be interesting to see the reactions because, and not to toot my own horn here, this is exactly what I said it'd be. Its just an abundance of merch and swag with online songs and video. If you're buying this stuff anyway and honestly just want stuff with the bands name on it, it's not a terrible deal compared to what they usually charge for it. If you're a hardcore collector thinking they're gifting up Cadillac Man your head is deep in the sand here haha.
