Unpopular opinion
Honestly I think Lie To Me is Bon Jovi's best ballad, especially the live version from Stuttgart 1996. Luv Can is a very close second. We'll never know how it would have sounded with 95/96 live vocals.

Mine is that She's a Mystery is a brilliant song and I'll defend that song against all attacks.

And in terms of popular ballads: I think that the passion-loaded, slower versions of Silent Night early on the SWW tour were downright spectacular. On the contrary, Bed Of Roses is one of my least favorite ballads. Gesendet von meinem X30 mit Tapatalk |
All About Lovin' You is great, and I'm tired of pretending it's not.

Mystery train and wildflower are great songs!!
And This House is not for sale and The Circle are some of Bon Jovi's best albums and full of great heartfelt lyrics!! Sure some energy might be missing but I love those albums!!! |
I agree about She's A Mystery being a great song, and I also think that THINFS is a pretty solid album and it has held up well for me. The production has its problems, but there are some really well-written songs on that album and I like the overall attitude of the record.
Dunno how unpopular this actually is, but I also really love Thick As Thieves and I'm probably significantly less opposed to Amen than the average diehard fan (although that song works a lot better live than in the studio for me - Jon's live delivery always felt so earnest, which really lifted the song up IMO). |
I LOVE Amen. I think it's some of Jon's better lyrics post 2000. The production murders it and a lot of the album but zero problems with Amen as a song.

Mine unpopular opinion is that This left feels right is a very decent album with some great tracks in there..
