Vote for best Bon Jovi studio album post millenium era. Only 10 options so no room for Richie Sambora's Atermath Of The Lowdown. If you like to give Richies album a vote put in the comments below.

To be honest I never really got into this era of Bon Jovi. I tried several albums several times but usually I tend to stop listening or skip songs because I get bored. Something is missing. Perhaps this poll can get me in the right direction to give some of these albums a second chance.

Recently I started listening Atermath Of The Lowdown, I kind of neglected it because I was a bit dissapointed in Undiscovered Soul. After several spins it clicks. This album rocks, well done Richie!

Good poll, I have some thoughts regarding to this:

First: both decade, century and millenium ended at December, 31, 2000, so Crush isn´t post millenium :confused:

Second: for me everyone of those albums has something lacking.
Bounce has load guitars but is mixed with some mediocre ballads that lows the overall outcome.
Have a Nice Day has a production I don´t like very much and some songs are full cliche.
Lost Highway has a twist to country but lacks of rock energy in general.
The Circle has some of the most "brilliant" songs post 2000, but production again and some song fillers ruins it in part for me.
What About Now loses part of its potential because of the production but I think it has too many songs of the kind of songwriter that in this case is not too much my cup of tea.
This House Is Not For Sale has some strong songs but the vocal delivery starts to clearly fail in spite of production efforts.
2020 clearly lacks of the same for me although has in it maybe what I recogn as their best song since Real Life.
And Forever is better on production and is more humble in pretensions, broadcasting some good feelings.

Let´s add to all of this something that is particular for every person, and that is the personal situation that we were going through at the release of every album and that, we want it or not, influences on what we percieve of that album, so I would choose Crush, if we admit that it´s post millenium, lol, and What About Now if it´s not the case.

So I don´t know which chance of those two to push:

Crush if it were post millenium, but it isn´t.

What About Now, instead.

I´ll vote when this is cleared.

What a fuss about the word millenium. For these polls I had to break up their discography in two parts. So this seems to be the most proper way to do it. And besides that, from Crush and onwards the bands albums got a more modern style. And putting it in the 80/90s poll wouldnt make sense either as its not from that era. So yeah in my book this divide made the most sense, but simply dont vote if you dont agree and have problems with the word millenium. I cant change the title to post year zero anymore.

It's kind of strange to vote for LH, especially considering the backlash then (and my lack of listening to that album), but I had to do it. It was also the last really successful Bon Jovi album both in the US (more) and worldwide (bit less). Perhaps HAND would win if production was not so "homogenous" and "wall of sound" sounding, that it just gets tiring to listen after few songs.

If Jon got his voice back and was now in the middle of worldwide tour, probably Forever would be in the mix also, cause context for me is important. Forever is very solid contribution. Similarly, Crush without context is not a good album in my eyes; but because it brought them back to glory (largely due to IML), it's very important (and again successful) album in Jovi history. Probably third (or even second by some metrics) most important after Slippery (and KTF).

HAND is the best IMO. Huge single, a concert staple to this day, some really good album tracks, some nice bonus tracks, and Jon sounded better than on the previous record.

The Circle was my second pick - good live shows from that era, lots of Richie co-writes, and the Greatest Hits tracks from around that time also got radio airplay. The band seemed to be doing really well (plus I like the album). What steep decline that was afterwards!

No way were I trying to make a fuss of it!! :)

Then I´ll vote for Crush: it has the majestic IML and some strong songs: Just Older, Captain Crash, Mistery Train, and She´s a Mistery (a song that has grown on me in such a way recently that has surprised me a lot, hence I remember skipping it immediately back in the day :D:D ), and for me in this album there are no real fillers.
It was a solid album although not really a rock album but more poppish.
