Love me back to Life
Is the reason they aren't playing this live because THEY think it sounds too much like The Distance? If not that, why would you leave it out? I wonder how many fans would rather hear it than Right Side of Wrong. I think Love me back to Life is slightly better than The Distance, and I don't think of them as similar (did for the first week). Love me... is more like a These Days track, in the style of If That's What It Takes, another song I believe they have never done live. Maybe Europe will get lucky and get Love me .. live, from Crush the only songs they never did were Save the World and She's a Mystery. From Bounce, they have yet to do You Had Me.., Open All Night, All about Lovin You (I think....these dont include the accoustic gig). So we have just 1 rocker, the best real rocker on the album maybe, to be played.

i was wondering about that too... i think Love me back to life is one of hte best tracks on the album - it would be soo good live!!

I definetely prefer the distance and right side of wrong to love me back to life!!!

I think Love me back to life is maybe the worst song on Bounce. |

at least love me back to life has a good guitar riff - i keep saying this but i'm finding more and more that the band are actually writing some very good verses (musically anyway)... but i think they are taking this chorus "hook" idea a little too far |
I definately prefer Right Side of Wrong over Love Me Back To Life. I don't think it's the worst song either....I like it on it's own. But Right Side tends to be dimissed a bit too much here. To me it seems its the track with the most potential to rule live. As long as the people don't shut it out just because they didn't like the album version. I give the people who dismiss Right Side, this........when he sings "we got four kids all hungry and one on the way" I'm thinking the real issue here in the song is lack of birth control. So immediately you got the visual of some white trailer trash from Deliverance. I'll leave further analysis of the song for another thread.
Anyway....I actually agree with you..Letitrock..regarding some of the choruses. I personally like the song, Bounce EXCEPT I have a hard time with the title. I mean.....the song is supposed to have a bad ass attitude....but the word "bounce" and "bad ass" don't go together. Mostly pornographic visions appear in my head when I hear the chorus. At any rate...it don't work. You're not sure if you are supposed to laugh or scoff. But I gotta admit I like the song otherwise.....except maybe the "counted out 6,7,8,9" line. I half expect him to next sing "then I recited my A, B, C's" Oh and uhm...I don't think Love Me Back To Life sounds like the Distance..where did this become some kind of fact that is it regularly thought of sounding similar? |

I didn't dismiss anything, all I said was Love me back to life, would probably be preferred by more fans than Right side of wrong. I think thats a given, most people want the harder tracks done all concert long, especially male fans like myself. A concert should mostly be for your rock tracks if thats what type of band you are. Right side isnt a bad song, but its far from a favourite. As for all that stuff on what songs bring up in your mind, Im not into that. A song is a song, the words mean nothing to me pretty much as long as it sounds good. You dont have to worry about words with BJ, they dont write stupid tunes.

Right Side Of Wrong Stinks...
At least in my book anyway. :D Joey is worse though. |
Love me back to life IS BETTER than Right side of Wrong definately!

to the question: no it's not because they don't like it, and it's not too bad to be played- the reason is that there are too many guitars on the album and you can't play the song with only 2 guitars cause you'd aways have to swich the e-guitar and the acoustic one- playing it with an acoustic sound from the effectboard would just suck and moreover jon would have to swich the sounds and i haven't seen him with an effectboard yet...

Jon rarely plays guitar and only one? Ok, going by Shepherds Bush, which is the most recent reference I have on video.....Jon plays guitar on 9 of the 18 songs played....half of the show. So depending on your defination of rarely plays guitar live..... Then you say he uses only one guitar......without re-watching it and noting the exact make and models, he played at least 3 different guitars. Finally, he's not exactly playing his electric guitars "clean." So that would wash out the "no effectsboard" theory. It may not be a rack but there sure as hell is one. Finally, Love Me Back To Life can be quite ably played and sound good live as I just heard it done 3 weeks ago by the tribute band, Slippery When Wet. No one in the club knew it, but whatever. It sounded good. If they can do it, I'm quite sure the original can. Bon Jovi isn't a band that doesn't play one of their own songs live because they lack the ability. You are thinking of KISS with their penchant for rehiring drummers and guitarists that can't play for sh**. They may still play the song yet....the tour is still fairly fresh and surprises come up every now and then in the show. |
i deleted the thing with the 1 guitar- i meant sth. completely different but my english skills are not high enough to express what i want to say :-)
despite of that i have never said that they don't play it cause they lack of guitar skills- they only can play two guitars and you need 3 to play it properly... the only way is to change the sounds. another thing is that jon would have to play with the talk box which would be a hell lot of fun- i think i'd collapse of laughing   or he has to play the solo- i heard jon playing soli in 98 on the da tour- and he just laughed about his soli as much as the audience did- it was good for entertaining but it was after the motto "laugh about the things you can't cry about" (translated from german in martin2000 english- hope you know what i wanna say   ) so now i'm arguing about their skills :-) |

i can't stand them... hey.... joey - just the way they say that makes me cringe and the way richie repeats the 'tell me who you're gonna be' line - as if it was a worthy lyric to be repeated by his great voice... |

I'm kinda hoping that we're gonna get "Love me back to life" in Europe.
It is a great song and I'm sure the guys could play it live, no problem. Going slightly off topic, I have to say that I agree with Choclady about "Joey". I also like this one and I really like the Richie part - "Who you're gonna be". I also think the line "pick the lock off our lives" is truly inspired! - I didn't care too much for the demo version with the sha la la's but it is very interesting to see how it was improved and morphed into the album version. |

Pick the lock off our lives and be free to do what you feel "could" be a better life. I'm always striving to better myself, I guess this song gives me inspiration and that's why I like it so much. |

a lot of swedish bon jovi fans seems to like joey! |
Personally, I love that song. It's one of my favorites on 'Bounce'. I'm not sure why they don't play it live, but in Chicago the other night someone was holding up a sign that said 'Love Me Back To Life'. I was really hoping they would play it, but no dice. Maybe they will on the summer tour.

i like love me back to life and joey
