next legends will be........
i think these are the bands who r growing constantly & will become legends when we will be 80..haha..not 80 but in near future....
1.red hot chillie papers:some of here will say that they r all ready legends ..which is true one side..constantly producing superb music & quality songs...they r sure gonna be legends 2.off springs: most funny punks ever! really to preatty fly....original prankster..they have the skill to produce techno music... 3.system of a down:some of us will say..hey that"s new metal....but they really played soo hard & where angels deserve to die..they must live by the name of legends.. any other u know???i don"t know much about beautiful creatures..r they really sound good?? |
'Red hot chilli peppers' and 'The Offspring', just a small remark...
Anyway, I agree that RHCP do have the potential to stay well known, even in many years... but legends? I don't know. If I think of legends I think of Elvis, The Stones, The Beatles etc., I don't think RHCP will make it that far. Same goes for The Offspring. They've had a few major hits and they're around for a long time now, but I don't think they have the same impact as The Rolling Stones did. And 'System of a down'? No... At least not over here in Holland. I don't know how they're doing in the UK or US, but over here it's just one of the many bands and nothing really special. -- Sara |
I, too think of Elvis and The Beatles and stuff like that when I think of legends and they deserve it. I think this world ran out of the stuff legends are made of in the 70s back when music was a statement and not only commerce. We are part of a fast food generation which is not really the soil for growing legends. The Offspring? RHCP? System of a Down???? Certainly not. Bon Jovi? No. Although the stayed on the top for a long time and hopefully will be able to continue that but they are not rebellious enough I guess. And I really think you have to die young if you wanna be a legend. John Lennon, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison... Hm. And I guess your first name has to start with a 'J'.... Jimmy Page and "J"obert Plant are still alive though.
PS System of a down... LOL |
One more thing: System of a Down.... HAHAHA LMAO. You forgot to mention the Backstreet Boys.
|
how many songs have u heard of system of a down???have u listend "toxi city" cd??? it"s awesome...
|
Just cos they got one awesome album IN YOUR OPINION it doesn't mean they'll be legends!
The closest bands to being legends, perhaps U2, Def Leppard and maybe Bon Jovi but with the critics view of them it may not be the case! |
i totally agree with king! there's only one way to get the legends-status and thats being famous over decades... 2 decades like bj have are not yet enough and the only bands that come up to my mind either have already been posted by stephenking- the only band i may add is aerosmith if they can get their problems sorted and continue to rock!

okkk..1st of all legendness isn"t based upon staying decades...there r soo many bands who just stay at 20 years & not legends...let"s take an example of GnR...only 1 cd ( appetite for destruction) is enough to made them legends....it"s not neceserry to stay at 20 years but do the 20 years task in only one cd!!!!.....history shows that only one cd have made legends ..legends..in bonjovi it was "keep the faith"...in def leppard it was "hysteria".....& system of A down is surly going to sucseed(if it don"t split)....
|
i wouldn't call a band a legend just because of one single album... i'd say these albums were their break-throughs ( for bj it was slippery btw) but it's all a matter of definition
