Overpaid!

What do I do? I should have been paid about £200-250 this morning, but instead have been paid £569.36!

I suppose they could just ask me for it back when I go in to work, but if they don't what should I do. Would it be dishonest to keep it, even though they are a big company, and woudn't miss it?

Damn, the worst thing is, I want to buy a synth this week, and this would just about give me enough for it...... morals or synth.

If you want to keep your job, return it. You know they might notice it and then you´re going down. On the other hand if you return them, they might reward you for your honesty. :) :? 8) :P

I think the difference is too big, if it was £50, you could try, and if they were asking you to give the money back, it could be possible, but this is much money ... it you buy something with it, and they ask you to refund, be sure to can do it, otherwise you'd lost your job and ... more :?
It's up to you

Yeah, but I won't have a synth :( which will make me feel incomplete

Also, it's a big company, who don't thank people for things like that. There was this one time we were well understafed, and we had to work a hell of a lot harder than we should. We didn't even get a thank you!

That's not to say it would be right to rip them off of cource, I'm sure I will get it back...... But it's still tempting to just hold back, and see if they notice, i.e paly dumb, pretend I havn't checked my bank ballance.

Place this money on a saving account then , and wait :?:

You could take into account that your bosses could call the police and then not only would u lose that money u get a crim record and an overall pain of a time. if its a big company, they would generally reward loyalty.

remember though - it was their mistake. For all they know you thought you already had a lot of money in there anyway...

if for some reason (and they won't) they said we made a big mistake can you give us back this money please... you say "oh sorry, i wasn't aware of that... I've not got it to give you back in one payment because i have bought something with it but you can deduct it from my wages, or if you can wait 3 weeks i can pay it all back to you"

I"m not really woried about my boss calling the police. If they were to take action, that action would be to simply ask for it back. I think also that they can insist I pay it back, and as I now have a contract, the way they would do this would probably be by deducting from my future wages.... Still, I know that other people have been overpaid in the past, and because they've kept quiet, nothing has been said. It's a bit of a shambles to be honest, I've been underpaid and overpaid slightly in the past, and this has been the same for everbody..... they lost my timesheet one month!!!!

Still, I think I would feel guilty spending money I hadn't earnt

shut the **** up mike and buy the ****ing synthesizer

if they've underpaid you in the past also this is how you make up for it. worst case scenario give it them back in a few weeks if they ask...

which since they are incompetent they will never do
