jess 08-08-2003 12:22 PM

not for me, but for my mum's birthday, i bought a Johnny Hallyday cd with lots of old songs from the 60's, they are not very known, but i'm sure they will remind her lots of things. This man is the biggest star in France, started with Elvis songs and all from this area, he's Our national Rocker, for his last show, le Stade de France was full !!!!!

Neurotica80 08-08-2003 12:42 PM

Stereophonics - you gotta go there to come back. Actually it was bought for me for my birthday.

The last CD I bought was something I think especially Tom appreciates a lot, I bought Robbie William´s Sing When You´re Winning, great record I must say. :D But I also bought two of Scorpion´s live records.

Christo 08-17-2003 01:33 PM

Deep Purple- Purplexed. :D Honestly, the live version of Smoke on this album is just amazing, 10x better than the studio take of the song.

Big, bigger, biggest is the compilation album. The best album of Mr. Big is Lean into it, get it if you can. Bump ahead is also very good (what music of theirs isn't?) and you should also hear Mr. Big Live (the name of the album), they are really really good live.

Wings - Hits & History

I like it, it shows that Paul McCartney was able to write good songs with John Lennon after The Beatles.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Don't you mean without John Lennon?

I like Wings too. "Band on the run" and "Live and Let Die" are probably my faves.

I also though Live and let die was by the Beatles... written for the Bond film...

No. The Beatles split up in 1970 and the bond film was made well after that. So it was definately written by Paul when he was with Wings.

Teemu 08-20-2003 07:32 PM

A few days ago I bought Bruce Springsteen's "Born To Run". :D

My favorite songs from that album are: Thunder Road, Night, Backstreets, Born To Run & Jungleland. The rest of the songs are not that bad either.. but those are my favorites from "Born To Run" at the moment.

Teemu

The last I bought was White Stripes "Elephant". What a great album. I've also bought one of their earlier albums. They also do great version of an old Dolly Parton song "Joline". What do you people think of White Stripe?

Well, I only got it because I liked it from the burnt copy you gave me, which unfortunately had a nice jump in it right in the middle of the drill song!! :? But usually I will buy an album I like that much, even if I do have a burnt copy.
