Def Leppard in Brixton
Hello all!
Just wondering if theres anyone here who went to see Def Leppard at the brixton academy the other night? I did and they damn well rocked. Joe Elliot made me cringe by saying theyd been around for 24 years!! (longer than ive been alive!!) but saying that they are all looking good and sounding even better!! just a small query really!! toodles Kat |
I went to see them in Manchester - they rocked there too. First time I've seen them live but I'll definitely go again.
Ricky Warwich and The Darkness were both very good too. |

The Darkness were the worst though, calling themselves a rock band, when they're just a glorified pop band. If you think that their vocalist is good, then a) get your ears tested, and b) listen to Glenn Hughes. Glenn will hit notes an octave higher than that guy, and without going into falseto. That's all that guy did, falseto, which made it weak, and whinny. He also loved himself far too much!!!!! Def Leppard were really good though! They started really well, up to Foolin' which really rocked! Then I personally thought the concert went cold, I didn't like the new stuff (although I only actually knew 4 songs of theirs). Then the concert picked right back up again with Rocket....Yeah!!!!!!!!! It was a really good concert. It's not my exact music taste, but still a great show! |
what i thought was fuuny that at the Brixton show the Darkness inger called themselves "the Best UK band around"...
erm... just remind me where Leppard are from?? The Darkness were they supporting one of the best UK bands around!! |

There was a great bit at Manchester, where the band tried to get the audiance to sing, in the same way Jovi do with Lay Your Hands On Me, of Purple with Smoke On the Water. They stoped the music for the crowds bit.... silence. It was magic.... come on, did they really expect us to sing their song, when they're the support band. They treated themselves like co-headliners..... Whitesnake and Dokken can do this, Scoprions and Dio can do this, Dio with Cooper could do this, even Saxon at the Dio could do it, but not some punks who nobody knows, or likes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I said this before, the Man gig was one of the fist times I've heard this band, how does this tour compare with previous ones? Like I said, I was very impresed! |

Some of the earlier N America shows started with the first half of High N Dry. If you're a hard rock fan, you would definitely enjoy that. I wonder if they will bring that back for the upcoming N America shows. |
It was actually Manchester I went to. To be quite honest, I don't think I could tell a good set from a bad set with this band, I litteraly knew Rocket, Let's Get Rocked, Rock of Ages, Poor Some Suger On Me, and Foolin'. I was just glad they played these songs. By and large, although there were a few others that were great, these were also the songs I enjoyed the most.
