just something i would like to point out..

It is true that in the past i did do quite a lot of posts using just emoticons as answers. However, there is no reason to always have a go at me for it. In the last few weeks i have hardly ever done it, i reduced it when people started complaining about it. Even the ones of you who now complain about me (i dont hear any other names popping up in this context) do that. I don't want to point out names now, because it would be unfair towards the persons i'm referring to. If anyone wants to know it, feel free to pm me.

Another point i would like to make is, I don't actually see the problem you have with those emoticons. To be honest with you, sometimes those emoticons are more specific than many other people's posts. Or to quote Mongoose: "Emoticons speak more than words boyoh" (well, maybe this wasnt exactly how he said it, but you get the idea).

I think the emoticons should be fun and if you don't like it you will have to deal with it. They will always be used as long as they're available. And they do add to the understanding of posts as well.

Think about it. If you want to argue about this, feel free to pm me...No, wait. If I think about it, you can also put on a fight on this thread, i don't really mind. There has been so much controversy about this topic on this board already so feel free and welcome to respond here. And since some of you seem to enjoy arguments so much, here is the perfect opportunity for you. have fun.

Woo hoo....so we can have another argument....yeah.

I am most likely one of those people you where refering to, and I don't mind. I stand by what I said, and I think Thierry, and others too, feel the same was as I do.

I don't mind the emoticons, I sometimes use them myself, it's just that some topics, which are quite interesting at first, degenerate into pages upon pages of emoticons. This leads astray from the topic, and gets monotonous and annoying. It is okay if there are only 1 or 2 per page in a topic, but sometimes it gets stupid. There can be dozens of replies of single emoticons, in direct succession.

Hey Choc,
You don't have to justify yourself to me. This board is an outlet for people to express their views, opinions and whatever the hell else they wanna do. Some do it with words, some with emoticons - in the grand scheme of things who gives a toss! I don't! I don't care if u or anybody else for that matters goes off topic either - this is a meeting place - a place where worlds collide and cultures meet, where people make friends and enemies - on the whole its an escape from our boring and mundane lives - a place to talk about all things BJ and all things related to life. It's a free world here at DC - ego's may get dented but nobody really gets hurt! Besides we always have the option of skipping topics if we don't agree with them. Life's too short - peace out!

I have noticed that you have done it less choc, and for that I am grateful. You must find it a little annoying when you are trying to read an interesting topic, and then people go off topic and start using only emoticons.

This can spoil a good post. Instead of going off topic, why not create a new topic? Is that so hard?

I can't think personally of when that has happened for quite a while now...

you're all doing what you accuse me of.... "living in the past" - it's become a cliche now...

why should she have to accept your gratitude though... she doesn't have to answer to any of us

So you don't get annoyed when you're reading through an interesting topic, and it all of a sudden turns into an emoticon war?

no - because that doesn't happen anymore

if it's an interesting discussion with the odd exception people either contribute with a post of their own or they keep quiet because they don't want to read all the preceeding posts

That's what is so great about the scroll feature if you choose to use it.

What does upset me...glad you asked.

Emoticons upset you..KRB saying that he watched and willed the Trade Centers to fall upsets me. Which do you think is a bit more upsetting???

Get your priorities straight...sorry if that was harsh. :D

It's just that you have no problem defending a person like KRB, yet you bash Choc. for using emoticons. Emoticons are not meant to upset people. KRB thrives on it.

**To Thomas not Hellman** :D
