Suåmi/Finland - Hjälp mig. Help me. Tour thingy.

Hello. It so happened that I now got some money. So I MIGHT want to go for a gig in Europe. The only problem is my lack of travelling experience. You see, my longest trip has been to Sweden by a ship. Of course I´ve been to Estonia but that´s another story. I need some help my fellow Finns.

1) Where can I buy the tickets for example to Mannheim or Bremen or Amsterdam or any other gig for that matter? My only lines in German are: "sprachen sie deutch?" and "Ich bin Lauri". So, my German is not very good. I´m not studying it in school so that might explain it. I´m not even sure if those lines mean what I want them to mean.

2) How should I travel there? Laura, Taija, Jovian + Ice, are you travelling together? Or how? How much does this cost?

3) Are you sleeping on the streets? I´m quessing not. A cheap hotell...

4) Any alternative information is appreciated. Thank you.

5) It sucks that BJ doesn´t come to Scandinavia as it would be so easy to travel across the sea.

6) I´m not saying I will go to see them but just in case...

Try www.kartenhaus.de or www.tickets-per-post.de. I think we used the latter one for Mannheim. You don't need to speak anything :D And you don't need a credit card either, at least at TPP. I think that if you are only able to go to one show, you might wanna go to Mannheim because there are only one sort of tickets. For the other shows there probably is only seating places left and they are probably pretty far from the stage.

Me and Laura are travelling together, just the two of us but Anu will join us in UK. We'll take a ferry to Sweden and then a train to Central Europe. If you only go to one show, it might be wise to fly, check www.ryanair.com. If you didn't know, they start flights from Tampere to Stockholm beginning of April and you can continue from Stockholm to Frankfurt (I'm not positive, you have to check). That's probably the easiest way, and probably the cheapest, too if you only go to one show.

No we are not :D I have a friend in Mannheim (actually in Ludwigshafen) and we're gonna stay at her. But we have pretty many links to cheap hotels and hostels in other cities we are going to on our tour page, check it out.

I really hope you would be able to go, too. This is the first time me and Laura are doing this kind of trip so we don't know very much ourselves, only what we've learned this far. But good luck with your plans! :D

Lol Late - R u me in disguise??

I've been trying to plan this thing all week.

Biggest headache for me I think will be travelling - intercountry / gig.. but I have found a really cheap flight (£20)... & the Hostels seem reasonable.

Let me know what your planning...two lost sheep is better than one

Btw Taila's & Lauras website is very helpful!!!

Also - if u need a hand booking a German ticket I can just about manage it now....

Yup, I´m you and you´re me. I don´t know if I´m going to go but it´s a thought. I´ve never seen them live. Damn, it would be so much easier if they would just come to Scandinavia.

I´ve never travelled alone to foreign countries so that´s one limit, I quess.

Where´s Mannheim exactly? Is it near Frankfurt? I´m lost. I need someone to travel with. Life´s hard sometimes. I´m going to think now.

Mannheim can´t be sold out, right?

Thank you, Taija, for your advice.

No, Mannheim isn't sold out and is about 30 km south from Frankfurt. And I checked, you can fly from Stockholm to Frankfurt with Ryanair. But if you fly, you shouldn't fly during weekend, it's much more expensive then. The Mannheim concert is on Sunday June 1. Me and Laura are leaving Finland Thursday May 29 and heading first to Mannheim. You can join us if you like but I still think it would be wiser to fly than to take a train. You know, May 31 is kind of a big day for me. If you know what I mean. :P This is getting hard. I would go there of course with you but I don´t know. I´m going to have to think about it. I really wouldn´t want to miss my big day even for Jovi. Damn!

Flying on a Saturday night... is my only option at this point. Maybe I should just fly to London to see them. But that´s bloody expensive. Sometimes I just wish I was a year older so I wouldn´t have anything to do on May 31.

What other gigs can you recommend for me to go? Are there any as easy-to-go as Mannheim?

Mike 03-08-2003 12:35 PM

I heard on the grapevine that 8 more European dates will be announced?? & Fredrik has heard rumours... Maybe be it could be worth waiting to see??

Late 03-08-2003 12:38 PM

Maybe I will wait then. Do you know when they will be announced?
