Everyone help me please!
Right - i need your help please people (as many examples from the world as possible, the better)...
My question is: "How influential were the arts in the nineteenth century" (going up to WWI - 1914) examples: how the operas of Wagner supposedly 'characterised' the German nation and affected the politics during the Third Reich... how nationalism (Volkish) in literature pushed many readers/working classes towards right-wing politics how in England the Rowntree reports - alerted politicians to poverty and thus there came liberal reform how Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights argued for the increased rights of women, and change in attitudes. Same with Mary Wolstencroft, and J.S. Mill, Virginia Wolfe... any help would be greatly appreciated... obviously i'm going to do all the work but it would be nice if anyone knows any obscure examples from their own countries Thanks Tom |
