zoom are good yes... but ideally you need to buy just the effects you need...

i was going to get a zoom multifx but decided to just buy delay etc as single pedals as time goes by...

It depends. I'm not a guitarest, but I was with Tom when he tried out the peddle. It was good, in that it did a lot, and gives you a lot of options. However, comparing the effects to singles there is no comparison. The delay on that machine was a little disapointing, and the DD-6 does give you so much more. You won't get the range, and contole in the Zoom, but then again, to get the same number of effects in singles will cost £1000's!

does zoom effects have Wah-Wah?

In what way is it better? You get worse sound quality, and not enough control on individual effects plus it restricts you to the effects and settings it has. With individual pedals you can do anything. Try to run chorus to a wah to a fuzz with a Zoom...

As for Wah's, some Zooms do have it. For information on some of the pedals click >>here<<

Ice

definitely

like i said - i only advise multifx if you are on a budget... if you want something to perform live with then individual pedals are better

what's your setup Ice

I've got a Boss Wah-pedal (just asked them to get me the best one they had and then handed the money over - also the most expensive, but it's worth it) and next week I'm buying the Boss DD-6 digital delay pedal...

i just want a basic sound to get that uli jon roth/david gilmour sort of sound

That's it though. You know what you want your guitar to do, and what effects you need. Those things are probably great if you're learning, and just want to try out different things. I know from when you had that horrible effects peddle, that did different sounds, after a while you settled on one or two of them, and that becomes your sound.

Still, if it's a specific effect your going for, you shouldn't get anything other than individuals....

I want to get something to experiment with organ sounds.... I;ll probably try the DD out.
