For People Who Dont Know Who 'LIVE' Are
LIVE have done 5 albums so far and this tour will be in support of the 6th I guess. Their two best albums are also very diverse. "Throwing Copper" came out in the mid 90's and is seminal grunge really. Good but quite heavy in places and not something that a lot of BJ fans would warm to straight away I imagine.
The other is the superb "Distance to Here". This is slightlymore melodic and would be a good starting point. It also has the awesome "The Dolphin's Cry" on it that I consider to be one of the top 5 rock songs ever written - I shit you not! One listen of this song and you will wet yourself, it has that effect. Their last album, "V" was a big disappointment, infact it wasn't released all that long ago so I guess the band didn't plug it much either. At long last BJ have taken a risk with a rock band on the bill and it will pay of, they are a great live (no pun intended) band. |
Some folks in the U.S. might be hip to one of Live's songs, without realizing it. Back in the days immediately post-September 11, 2001, VH-1 showed a vid with footage of the WTC aftermath, with Live's song Overcome as the music.
