Question for 'the new BJ haters'.....

Just curious, everyone like Letitrock, Mike McRock and Stranger, who feel that BJ have become a pop band, do you feel that their are any better rock bands out there today....based on their current material, not old stuff.

Hmmm, yes. To me Heathen Chemistry from Oasis was more refreshing as Bounce from Bon Jovi was. Oasis is still loyal to their own style, and don't care if anything is being disliked by most people. They don't go for sales, they go for quality. The Hindu Times is one of their greatest tunes ever, and I don't think any Oasis fan disagrees about that, and Stop Crying Your Heart Out and Hung In A Bad Place are all tracks which can become classics for the fans from Oasis.

But Bounce has absolutely no song on it which can become a classis. Yes, Undivided might be one of those tracks, but since it relates to Sept. 11, I doubt if they will still play it in five years. Everyday, Bounce and Right Side Of Wrong are decent songs, but in five years they'll only be playing Everyday, because it was their first single from Bounce, not because it has become such an anthem or a classic.

Well, sure Undivideds related to September 11th, but the underlying message about unity is a permanent important message. I reckon Undivided will become a classic.

maybe they can't find new inspiration, don't take it wrong, i'm just saying that maybe they don't do something a bit different because they just can't.
Is it a good thing ? i don't know, it's a bit boring sometimes, there's no evolution ...

That might be true, but at least I think it's better then hiding it with drum computers and samples and all that stuff.

hiding? how are Jovi hiding? they add sampling to keep with the times. Oasis havent changed much in 3 or 4 years. Good music evolves..everything else falls by the wayside..

I like when artists are willing to try new things. Technology is created to be used.

There are other ways to keep with the times. They don't need to use samples. They didn't start to scratch in the nineties either when hiphop was high in the charts.

True, but to me using drum loops isn't made for rockmusic. It just doesn't work for Bon Jovi. And look at Aerosmith's Just Push Play...It just doesn't work. Most people do not realize it, but the song Bounce is one big sample. You hear so much guitars in it because they sampled the entire song. That's stupid. That's not the way to make a decent record. In a few years you've heard it all, since the drumloops will sound out of fashion.

I thought Just Push Play was pretty good. Maybe it's because I can't tell a drum loop from a regular drum. Yes, I don't know the difference and I realize that I am pathetic.
