Respect

Although people complain about Bon Jovi, I think that they are well respected in the music industry, even by people who may not neccessarily (sp) enjoy their music. They have been around so long now that they have reached that stage where other, younger bands look up to them as inspiration.

Anyone agree?

Oh indeed. I recall one instance at a Pittsburgh gig back when Eve 6 was the opening act for Bon Jovi. The lead singer, at one point, said something along the lines of "I think I'm gonna p*** myself...we've got Bon Jovi backstage!"

I remember Eve 6 saying something to that effect at Giants Stadium, too. I agree that they are respected for the most part in the music industry. They have worked their asses off and they deserve it.

I agree

I'd say actually, they've lost a lot of respect in the rock world in the last 10 years, and are remembered as being a great rock band, as opposed to being seen and respected as a band nowerdays....

True though, they do seem to have respect from the sort of Cat Deely's sort, and probably everybody I know would know a Jovi song.

They've still not got into the Rock Hall of fame, so they can't be that well respected.

It's a funny one, because I'd say that nowerdays they're respected for the work they did in the 80;s, whilst in the 80's they were discarded for it

There needs to be more than 25 years since the first record before the band is allowed into the Hall of Fame... Bon Jovi are only nearly 20...
