Jon on Bruce

In fact, Bon Jovi does have something to say about that other New Jersey rocker, Bruce Springsteen, whose first album in nearly two decades with the E Street Band, The Rising, almost entirely deals with the event.

"That's his thing," he says. "It hasn't found its way back to my record player. I find it's okay. But that's just my opinion. It's a lot (to deal with). Hasn't anything else happened in the last 18 years since the band made a record?"

Hey he did say that it was his opinion...he didn't just flat out say it sucks...so I guess that isn't sooo bad. You know like when I say J-Lo sucks!!! see now, that is bad. I'm totally dissing someone...or how about PDiddy...(and wtf is a PDiddy anyhow??) And Britney Spears. She must have SOME talent.She won star search for gawd sakes. Where did it go? Okay..see...more opinions....

Good for Jon. He is not afraid to speak his mind. He is a confident person.

Jon is a bit to cocky for his own good...

I love both Bon Jovi and Bruce but The Rising is by far the better album than Bounce. Of course Jon is entitled to voicing his opinion but he could've given The Rising a little more credit. Irrespective of that I think the record should find its way back to his CD player for him to listen more carefully. There's more to these 15 masterpieces of songs than an underlying 9/11 theme...

I am a huge Bruce fan and post on a Bruce board and you know the die hards over there have yet to forgive him for the comments even though A. Everywhere Jon went during the promotion of Bounce he was asked about Bruce- wonder how gracious Bruce would have been if the situation were reversed B. Jon is a Bruce fan who actually was stating an opinion held by a a minority of Bruce fans who wish the first E Street album in 18 years wasn't a 9/11 themed album.

That being said, I am not one of those fans and I love The Rising. I agree he may want to spin it again because it is brilliant. At the end of the day Jon and Bruce are friends whose kids attend the same school. I am sure Bruce isn't all upset over this.

Certainly not.. Bruce got tons of nominations for his album at several important prices. The rising is selling OK i guess (don't know the actual sales in or outside the us). But it is Jon his own opinion. Jon likes bands like Creed (he stated that a couple of times).

I don't know for America, but here in Holland Creed is just 'one of the many Pearl Jam rip offs'. So i respect his opinion, but i hope Jon (and the rest of the band) will show up at the Bruce concert in Holland for a jam session :P

Greasy Lake perchance? I dabble in that board too :}

Mongoose, I am Barefoot Woman over there. I now have a Jovi avatar because I was getting too much flack over being a Bon Jovi fan. Who are you over there?
