Favorite Jovi Memories
I thought it would be fun for us to post some of our favorite Jovi Moments from the past.
I'll start. I was listening to Blaze this morning and I remembered when it was nominated for an Academy Award and hearing that Jon would be performing it. At the time, the future of the band was still heavily speculated upon and all kinds of break up rumors were floating about. I remember when the song started, of course, they focused on Jon for the first bit. Then they did a wider shot and I could see that Richie was there and the rest of the band was there! Julie and I were on the phone at the time and we both started screaming and crying because the band was together playing the song and we just KNEW that it meant all those rumors were false. It was an amazing moment--fulfilling because I'd been sticking up for the band still being together for months; full of hope because it verified there was a future for the band; full of pride because Jon was being so honored for the song and sharing the spotlight with the band. I love thinking back to the first time I heard It's My Life, 'cause I was so happy when I heard it. The song was so great, that I bought the album, without listenning to another song from Crush. And I loved it...

I don't think that performing the song with the band was a good decision.
It lead another time more to BON JOVI=JON BON JOVI. Why does Jon never sing STRANGER IN THIS TOWN for examole? |
fave memory : singing All About Lovin' You to my angel in the car

Think it would have to be when I shook Jon's hand at Glasgow's SECC back in May 1993, that was an awesome moment for me.

Jon gave one of the most prestigious performances of his career and, as a solo song, he could choose any musicians he wanted. He could have called in Jeff Beck, but instead he shared that honor with his band. I think that's pretty cool! Now instead of picking apart one of my favorite memories, why not post one of your own? That was the point of the thread. Becky |

My favourite memory? my sister telling me I won the contest to meet Bon Jovi backstage. We were meeting friends for dinner at a restaurant and I was headed straight there after school. She had to take me outside, for fear of the embarrassment I would cause. Then of course, meeting Richie and Tico. And thirdly, when they sang "I'll Be There For You" the first time I ever saw them live in 1993. I never knew why people would cry at concerts. Then I found out. |

I guess my favorite memory will always be my first concert. It was Giants Stadium 1989. I had been looking forward to my first concert for so long, and when it finally came... I can't even describe how I felt, but I will remember it forever. |
One of my favorite Jovi memories is from way back in 1989. It was during a Bon Jovi Weekend they had on MTV. They were doing the world premiere for the "Bad Medicine" video and had been hyping it all week. That night was also my homecoming dance. So, one of my friends and I told our dates we couldn't go to dinner before the dance and instead stayed home and made ourselves dinner (which came out aweful by the way!!) so we could watch the video for the first time. We made our dates wait until after they showed the video before we would leave the house.
I also remember the Academy Awards when they played "Blaze of Glory" together. I felt the same way as Becky did. It showed the entire world that the band was still together! Then of course, there's the Tampa concert from Saturday and hearing them play "Never Say Goodbye". I got a little teary eyed and almost started to cry. |
