Buskers and street artists.

Do you even like them?

Do you ever stop and listen to/watch them?

Have you ever given one money for their efforts?

I just saw a couple in Melbourne the other day to make me think that some of them deserve even a fraction of your time. :)

In England my first guitar mentor used to jam pink floyd, and the doors songs in Stockport Town centre - i used to love watching and listening to that...

In NYC there was this great busker who dresses up very wierdly in Central Park and sings in a very high-pitched voice... i have forgotten his name but Mouse will probably know who i mean

nowadays though in England they are mainly teenagers with acoustic guitars singing oasis songs and i have no time for that

In Manchester we also have a small string quintet doing Vivaldi's 4 Seasons etc... they are students from the university i think...

Oxford: you get quite a lot of African/Carribean drummers / bands - they are always great to watch...

Paris i seem to remember there was a great Jazz quartet just playing outside the cafes - I loved that - that for me is what Paris is all about

Orlando: i virtually saw Pat Travers busking since it was a free concert outdoors - that was amazing

most ive seen r average, theres one guy in glasgow whos really bad plays one of those really cjheap classical guitars that he cant tune. he doesnt really sing just makes kinda wierd noises pretending to be lyrics. ive seen him many times and the only 2 tunes he ever seems to play is driftwood by travis and the fields of athenrye now it doesnt take a genius to figure out that the fields of athnrye is not the kinda song u play sumwhere like glasgow in the middle of the street.

the best busker ive ever seen was in edinburgh last year at the festival. this guy was playing under the bridge by the chilli peppers on a BASS guitar. wot made this so amazing was he was playing the bass part, the rythmn part and lead guitar parts to the song all at the same time on the bass and singing. his singing was pretty mediocre but if u can play 3 different guitar parts simultaniously on a bass then singing doesnt really come into it.
