Best band of the 70's

I can't rememebr if this has been asked before. I think it's cool to see what Jovi fans know about the bands that influenced BON JOVI and stil should!

I went with AC/DC just because they are may faveourit in this list.
Their riffs are probably the best ever written and the feeling they give you when you listen to their albums or when you see their shows(specially the 2nd one)is just unbelivable. ANd about ANGUS YOUNG ...he is probably HARD ROCK's best and biggest symbol. He is not the best guitarist but I couldn't imagine a rockworld without him.
You can feel a strong AC/DC influene on JERSEY and on KEEP THE FAITH which are 2 of Jovi's best albums.

However, I don't think they are the most influential band or so but they created a way to rock 'n' roll that a lot of bands wanted to copy but noone managed. BACK IN BLACK and HIGHWAY TO HELL are milestones and even if they aren't as good songwriters as the others in the list their coolness is unbeatable!

There's only really Aerosmith from there that I have heard music from.

I have the Aerosmith Pandora's Box boxset (1991), and in the booklet, there is a quote;

"I always wished I could be half as cool for half as long"
- Jon Bon Jovi

Too bad it's ages since he said that...it seems he forgot it!!!

Led Zeppelin and Aerosmith rocked and ruled the seventies but i think that the progressive rock/ art rock bands (Rush, King Crimson, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, Emerson Lake & Palmer, Genesis,Queen) were more talented.

LED ZEPPELIN WAS THE COOLEST BECAUSE OF THEIR LIVE SHOWS, THE BACKWARD MESSAGES, JIMMY PAGE'S INTEREST IN OCCULTISM/'MR.CROWLEY' , LOTR REFERENCES but i think that their coolness made them VERY OVERRATED.

it's so difficult - but certainly Zeppelin

(Aerosmith for those who voted weren't around long enough as far as i'm concerned to be part of the whole 70s thing)
