War in perspective
I know we've exhausted this topic nearly...
but i just feel people need to see war in its real perspective... i'm not for the war... but that being said once it starts you have to accept it's not just humanitarian, economic etc as reasons for the war... people will die... soldiers, civilians killiing sadam will do no good - will just create a martry... i was having a rant about the coverage of the helicopter pilots deaths recently... it dominated regional and national news in the UK - more so than the bombing itself it seems Leningrad - blockaded without food 900 days - cannabilism... parents selling babies for food or eating them themselves... deliberate kidnapping of children for food... eating of solvents, soil... fuel, parafin... families freezing to death, falling into the ice trying to escape.... all this suffering - Russia saved the world from the Nazis more than the British or Americans... and yet they always remained the enemy put things into perspective |

my only hope is that when the soldiers return they are not treated as outcasts like after WWI or Vietnam for the US... though i doubt that will happen anymore... |
interesting
It is a historical fact that the USA let Russis invade Berlin first as revenge for Germany's eastern front atrocities. The russians then proceeded to rape 20,000 german women and children, in Berlin after the capital was taken.
Was it not the Germans who discovered that the Russians had murdered 4000 polish officers in Katyn in 1943. Russia should have been on trial at Nuremberg as well. |
