Off Topic- Most stupid law you ever heard of...
 

O.k. I feel like talking about something else then the war. let's be off this topic for a while until my brain cool down...

so my question is ( since i'm in law school):

What is the stupidest law you heard of???

(and by that I mean not the worst law written... but the stupidest as in the funniest....)

My number one was a old Quebec Law( it was changed in 1991) that said that any store owner needed to provide water and food for the transportation of its customer. The store owner need to put food and water for the horse of tis customer.... it's so cute, because its kind of unbelievable that it stayed until 1991....

Umm.. some of the laws I have heard for my own state (Pennsylvania) are:

It it illegal to sleep on top of a refrigerator outdoors. (there goes half the 'hick' population! :lol: )

You may not sing in the bathtub. (WHOOPS!)

Any motorist driving along a country road at night must stop every mile and send up a rocket signal, wait 10 minutes for the road to be cleared of livestock, and continue. (that pretty much explains PA right there - haha)

Motorized vehicles are not to be sold on Sundays.

You may not catch a fish with your hands.

You may not catch a fish by any body part except the mouth. (im not even going to ask... eeh...)

How is law school, though? Its acutally something I've been looking into after high school.

I cant remember exactly what it was. But by a late 1800's government we had (i.e Britain) legislation passed on how we must lawfully eat a lime!

That one was pretty obserd!!!!!!

There's a law here that the only person in the country who can eat Swan meat is the Queen.....


There are some pretty funny ones on "SEX" in southern US states, Texas springs to mind :D

but the two laws for the Netherlands are not funny at all... is this really such a boring country that we don't even have a couple of those absurd laws?

At least France has the law that ppl can't name their pigs Napoleon :D

Florida:
* If an elephant is left tied to a parking meter, the parking fee has to be paid just as it would for a vehicle.

Texas:
* When two trains meet each other at a railroad crossing, each shall come to a full stop, and neither shall proceed until the other has gone.

hence the massive delays ;)

To me MOST STUPID law in world is ......"when You are in a Bon Jovi concert and JON (most amazing man on earth) is in stage infront of you ..you can see him but can NOT touch him"....... :mad: :( :shock:
