A prayer for the POW/MIA/KIA and their families
I was watching the news, and they were talking about the soliders who were taken prisoner. It brought back memories of my mother, who fought for POW/MIA/KIA of Vietnam. I remember the wives and children and how strong they had to be. I remember because I was one of those children and my mother was one of those wives.
So tonight, please say a prayer for those POW, MIA and KIA in Iraq and their families. |

Of course they are in my prayers. But hearing all this talk of the MIAs POWs and KIAs bring memories of my mother crying alone, not knowing where my father was. For the longest time, we had no word of where he was. So he MIA. Finally he was declared KIA. It broke my heart as a five year old watching my mother cry like that.
My mother's best friend's husband was POW for nearly 8yrs. He came home alive. So like I said, I am reliving those memories. Please don't make this political. My orgianal post wasn't ment to be. |
Terms MIA, POW and KIA hardly include innocent Iraqi civilians.

What does this mean ? MIA, POW and KIA ? (i'm sorry, i have an idea i think but i'd like to know exactly)
I'm sorry to hear this, i'm sure it's really hard for you. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ And please, don't post here if it's not to help her with these bad memories ! it's completely disrespectful. |
Missing in Action, Prisoner of War, Killed in Action.
