Hypocricy in pop metal fans hating boybands?
 

hi y'all, i was having a discussion with a few guys about the Hypocricy in pop metal fans hating boybands - saying how these "pop rock" fans shouldnt really be hating on Backstereet Boys and O Town cos these two boybands have also come off the Max Martin Swedish conveyor belt and have similar melodic rock undertone to their catchy poppy tunes.

my buddies being the 80's metalheads obviously disagreed. what do you all think??

The point isn't that "boybands" are untalented. Anyone who has heard the Backstreet Boys sing acapella can attest to the fact that they're very talented. It's that they're not artists. They're not writing the songs. "Boybands" imply manufactured images, songs, etc... it's not authentic.
Writing with the people who write the songs for "boybands" is different...

When you bring five boys together with five different voices and you let them sing a capella, it always sounds nice. And that's what the Backstreet Boys do.

They just sing the song, and make faces like they give a lot of emotion. But it's still garbage. When another pop artist like Michael Jackson sings a song a capella, you can really hear the emotion, he does a lot more with his voice. Listen to You Rock My World A Capella, which is easy to find on KaZaA I think. He's got a lot of A Capella's, and all of them contain great singing. The Backstreet Boys just sing their songs, and that's it, since they are not talented singers.

i'd like to remind everyone that the reason most of us reckon Bon Jovi's "CRUSH / BOUNCE" & Def Leppard's "EUPHORIA / X" have offended many of their fanbase and ruined both their careers is cos they went overboard with the ballads!

these last few albums have both bands (DL more) singing as if they are the BACKSTREET BOYS!! :mad: - and when u got the best boyband in the world already doing that, it makes DL & BJ redundant!

and u gotta wonder why all these bands still work with Max Martin!

pop metal fans always hating on BSB, N'Sync & Britney had better admit BON JOVI & especially DEF LEPPARD sound like middle aged Backstreet Boys! :D

Boy bands are just boy bands - it doesnt matter what kitchen appliance they are named after.
