Is Bon Jovi against the war or for this crazy war?

As far as I know, Bon Jovi, the band, hasn't made any comments at all about the war.

However, back in September Jon was definitely against the prospect of war and during the live webcast asked folks to think twice before going into the desert to fight a war for no good reason. And when the band was in Australia in December, Jon (who you may recall supported Al Gore for the 2000 presidency) referred to President Bush as "George W. Lunatic".

Now that the war has started, Jon has taken the diplomatic route of supporting the troops and has been dedicating "The Distance" to them in concert.

jon is against but i'm not sure if he's against for the right reasons. he's more anti-bush than anti-war which is wrong. maybe someone else here knows more.

Well, I think since he's touring in the US and he is an American, he's trying to be diplomatic and support his fellow Americans who are in harm's way due to the fact that they chose to be members of the military. I don't think he's dedicating the song to them for killing Iraqis, but just hoping they stay safe and can come home soon and be with their families.

After what happened when one of the Dixie Chicks (an American country girl band) criticized the president, I think Jon is wise to take the high road and not risk alienating his fans with his war opinion.

As apposed to the Iraqis who didn't choose to be invaded.

Well.. I think that people can support the troops and not the war. The two of them are two different things. So, Jon may be in fact just supporting the troops - which many many artists and hollywood folk are doing. You dont have to like the war to help the people in it.

To continue to argue for no reason. There is a war going on, and there is not much you can do about it. You can complain, voice your opinion, but it won't change anything.

I just pray for the troops that are there and am glad BJ is showing their support for them.

As for the Iraqi people, let them get their own band who can show them support. Oh wait, Saddam wouldn't allow that.
