A Cycle?

Perhaps this is some wishful thinking, but, when you look at Bon Jovi's past and their present, they sort of follow a similar pattern (atleast, thus far.) In this case, we'll suppose These Days was the last "old" album.

Bon Jovi (album) and Crush were both new starts for the band...Bon Jovi got them into the music world, and Crush resurrected them when many had forgotten them. Then 7800 and Bounce were not quite as successful as their predecessors, but were still reveared by (most) Bon Jovi fans.

So...the next album on the list would be Slippery When Wet: the biggest Bon Jovi album of all time. So...will the next album be comparable to Slippery, or will the cycle be broken?

In that case, I hope the cycle continues, because by the laws of mathematics and deductive reasoning and all that whatnot, the next album would be huge.

Just a thought.

Aloha !

Keep The Faith was also a fresh start. Though I like your theory. Too bad it doesn't work.

Alec was still there for Cross Road.

I'd say the cycle is something like: they release an album, and then release another one that is similar, but darker and more mature. So in theory, the next album should be a new start for them

Keep On Rockin'

they will most likely take a break after the tour to do solo projects...so yeah i do expect something more mature, and i like the darker tone...either tho in saying that i thought how they bounced back with iML was pretty storming! im pretty happy with wot they have put out, but i really thought bounce would have been one of the best albums ever (to me it isnt), 1st time i heard everyday, it just rocked, and had a decent solo, and a heavier sound...and i also thought bounce wouldnt have so many ballads especially after richie said himself that he aint in the mood for ballads...the power tracks on their are awesome, just not enough of them is all for my liking...but back to yr question, there is no cycle, its just coincidence!! ;)

That would be great if your theory worked out to the precise speedings. I definitly want them to have an albulm that brings them back to the eyes of the public people - not just their fans. But, of course, whatever BJ works out to do, i'm sure it'll be wonderful :D

I noticed a cycle as well, but not the same one. I think of it more as a four-album cycle. Bon Jovi and Keep the Faith were new starts, Fahrenheit and These Days were the darker and more mature efforts, Slippery and Crush were were the wild fun albums (both complete with themes), and New Jersey and Bounce expanded on the respective albums that proceded them.
