Is Jon talking about Bon Jovi in this song? For a long time I thought that song was about some girl. But today after listening to the song I started to wonder if he was actually talking about the whole Bon Jovi experience.

I must say that I do like "staring at your window with a suitcase in my hand", I think it is one of my favorite songs on DA.

Maybe it is about a girl. It's a good possibility. I simply think the interpretation above makes sense too.

Actually last two sentences made me think in a different (band) direction.

In all honesty, I would rather this song be about a girl because if it is about the band then it sounds too depressing.

isn't a "band of gold" something like a thin robe of gold? you know, it "ties" the lovers together... :)
