Quitting Smoking (HELP ME!)

Good afternoon fellow jovians,

As of Monday night, I have QUIT smoking finally, after countless attempts, this is the further'est' I've come, 3 days.... I'm actually feeling physically sick from the cravings, after smoking a pack a day for the last 4 years of my life....

I'm using nicotine patches and they seem to be working, BUT they're 24 hour patches so I wear them to bed, and am having some REALLY Warped dreams! (The chemist warned me)

So What I'm really asking for now, is some stories from people who have quit, or are contemplating quitting, or just some advice?!!!! ENCOURAGEMENT!!!! Its getting harder!!!! Im trying to hold on, ah..

Im thinking with the money I save I'm gonna buy a motorbike! Cool huh? And at last I might be able to get back into Fitness, and FINALLY return to boxing, anyway thanx for hearing me out guys!

during my 2nd pregnancy, of course i stopped, it wasn't easy at all, and my husband told me he's gonna stop to help me. i thought he could but only for one day ! he was smoking more than me (nearly a pack too) and since 20 years ... but since this day he never touched a single cig !!!
but me ... i just can't stop :(

I have an advice:

Never start so you never have to quit

I quit smoking for 12 years before I took it up again a few years back when my Mum became ill. I smoked a packet a day for 2 years before I gave up again on my 35th birthday. I went cold turkey - no patches. Now I have the odd cigarette here and there but I doubt I will ever take it up again - besides I can't afford it!

But bad medicine is what I need.

(I don't smoke, but somebody had to say it)

My Gran and Grandad stoped smoking by buying a new car. They basically put all the money they'd have into a car, so they couldn't afford to smoke.....

At least this is the story they told me, but still, putting you're money into something else is probably a good idea.....

Buy yourself concert tickets... Bon Jovi, Whitesnake, Scorpions, Purple.... lodes of great bands this summer. With travel, accomodation, plus tickets, I'm sure you could spend your smoking money...Quit smoking and see great concerts......I'm half tempted to start so that I can stop!!!!
