Why driving on the left hand side... is the right side!!

OK...

Most ppl r right-handed... Hence this makes it easier to look over the right shoulder than left...

Hence - If everything is happening on your right - then it is safer as its easier to see...

Hence why driving on the left (overtaking - turning across oncoming traffic etc... is happening on the right) is safer!!!

This is supported by the high accident rate in France, America & such countries..

Britain does ok to say how many cars r on the roads!!

Views, issues concerns??

Euh you stupid british people must learn how to drive on the 'right' right side of the street

I've been a couple of times in England, and i was scared to death driving around there.. :D but problably you've got the same in Europe/us/everywhere else :)

Left side driving safer.. Neh don't think so, there are just more people in the countrys driving right

Your right hand is the hand where your thumb is located left! Haha! Think think... :D

I've never been to Britain, but I have been to Bermuda where they also drive on the wrong, I mean, left side of the road and let me tell you it was freaky. Even as a passenger crossing the street I found I would look the *wrong* way and then start to cross and find a car coming right at me. Nearly got myself killed a couple of times!

I saw a show on tv once that explained the reason for driving on the right or left side of the road. I can't remember much about it, but it had something to do with horses and carriages and the side of the carriage the driver sat to steer the horses.

i totally agree with mike....i'm not old enough to drive abroad yet so can't say how much more difficult it is but the british way seems more logical.....just the yanks throwing a spanner in the works as per usual  :P
