Help! My fansite's been plagiarized!
Someone just signed up to join my Bon Jovi SiteRing, so I was checking out their site to make sure they put the code on right - couldn't find it by the way - and anyway, I checked out their News Page and discovered they had taken *my* news and put it on *their* site WORD FOR WORD!!!!  I've never said it was *my* news to report, but I do make a habit of changing the wording around so it isn't exactly the same as reported at bonjovi.com, plus I sometimes put the unofficial stuff (like the maid suing Jon) that they don't report. Anyway, I'm just stunned!  What should I do? Confront the plagiarizer? Or just forget about it?

ask them where they got it from
thats very unfair, is there no-one you can report them to?
post something about it on YOUR site ! it is really unfair
Plaguerise them back.......an eye for an eye
is it really plaguerising though ? Since it is a secondary source anyway?

no its not plagerism.you did get it from a source and changed the wording around to make it your own, then this person copied your changed version...so its more like hearsay by this point. I would contact the person and ask what the deal is. And also make it a point on your site that if anyone wants to "borrow" any of your work that they should at least have the courtesy to ask and give you credit for it. But really if they are reporting news that everyone has heard a million times over, who shoul be getting the credit?? |
mind me asking what site it is?
