Random questions about SWW

I've been curious about a lot of things in this album. I'm pretty sure most of you can help me.

1. When I came to the page where they list the copyrights of the songs I came across this: PINK FLAMINGOS Copyright 1986 Polygram... They list a song called Pink Flamingos, but it's not on the album. Was this a typo? Was it a bonus track? I checked the drycounty.com listing of rare songs and didn't find it.

2. One of the special thanks goes to "Heather". Is this, by chance, Heather Locklear? I doubt it is, but I'm curious.

3. What is the song Raise Your Hands about?

4. Don't you find it kinda random that in Wild in the Streets, the song refers to a character called "Joey" at the very beginning and never mention him after that? (Note: This has nothing to do with the song Joey on Bounce.)

5. In Social Disease, they constantly refer something called "it" (You can read IT in the papers, etc.). What is "it"?

6. Where did they get the names Tommy, Gina, Roxy, Chino, etc.?

7. Are Captain Kidd and the King of Swing nicknames of Jon and Richie? If so, did they get these nicknames form the song Let it Rock? If they had these nicknames prior to writing the song Let it Rock, why did they use their names in the third person? (Where did they get the names Captain Kidd and the King of Swing from, anyway?)

8. Was the picture on the back of the CD taken from the Bad Name video?

9. Where was the black and white photo in the insert taken?

Keyboard solo.... basically the intro to Let it rock....

They opened the tour with Pink flamingo's, then went into Raise Your Hands.....saving let it rock for latter

This was the keyboard solo before Let It Rock. The first pressings from Slippery had it on it, the first Japanse release on CD had it on it, but later on they made one track from Pink Flamingo's and Let It Rock.

No, Joey is just used as a person to describe the streets then. It could have been anyone, it's not the name, but that little lyric is about the sort of person who lives there.

6. Where did they get the names Tommy, Gina, Roxy, Chino, etc.?
Tommy and Gina were old friends of Jon on college. Gina got pregnant and Tommy did his job and raised a family instead of raising a career. Tommy and Gina are not their real names though. For the other names, they are just names that fit into the song. It's the same story for Janie. It was inspired by a fight between Dorothea and Jon, but "Dorothea, don't take your love to town" doesn't sound so nice.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

He didn't meet her till much latter on, 90's.......I'm 99% sure of this, it could have been a random crush I suppose......If it was, I can certainly see where Richie is coming from

Nothing, just ripping off Springsteen's 'Raise Your Hand' lol..... It was written as an opener I've heard, so I'm guessing just gettng the crowd on their feet..... sort of a 'look were here, so make some ****ing noise'

I don't know....must have been a fun day though! I wrote (and included the photo - printed on photo quality paper) a paragraph on that for my English courcework a few years ago.... The essay was on advertising, so I talked about how sex was used to sell cars.... nobody seemed to notice that it was just a random picture of extremely attractive and bairly dressed rock chicks and a rock band!!!!!!!!

Captain Kidd was what Kerrang magazine called Jon, cos he wore the American flag a lot. The King Of Swing became Richie's nick after an incident involving two girls.....lets just say that the whole "Roxy on the table, her girlfriend down below" thing probably isn't fictional! :D

I think those are right. Feel free to correct me if they're not

Keep On Rockin'

They certainly knew each other from way before that, through Tommy Lee and Motley and all that. Heather was with the bands in Moscow 89, too, and they shared a plane. They didn't get together until later, but they did know each other for sure.

Just a curiosity point, Dorothea is in the picture, and also David's April.

Where are they in the picture? (I have no idea what April even looks like!)

Here's answers for 8 & 9.......

Yes, the picture on the back of the cd cover is from the Bad Name video. But it's only on later copies of the CD. My original doesn't have it.

As for the B&W pic in the insert. That picture was taken on the Jersey Shore. I believe it came from the same photo shoot that the original album cover came from. But don't hold me to that one.
