Aloha !

Re-releases are always planned around new releases, meaning there's only room for a release if there's no new album coming up.

Let's say there's 2 options for this year.

1. A new studio record. 12 new songs.

2. A re-release of any album of the nineties with the original album and 12 alternate takes of 12 different songs you've already heard before. This could be any studio album they've released in the past.

Not taking into account any possible tour which would follow said release or possible costs of a re-release package which one would you prefer?

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

7800 Fahrenheit but only if Richie Sambora plays the guitar because I do think that Shanks or X will distroy them

Re release all the way lol

Like said above album with different takes live concert DVD from that tour. That would be the way to go..
Nobody knows what's still in the archive...

Didnt Obie say a while back everything was all ready digitalized?

Jon always said he doesn't want to be a nostalgia act but theyre playing werchter classic..

People don't want to hear a new song they want to hear the classics.. When you talk to people the majority don't even now they still make new music..

Nick

Ktf,

Nick
Gotta hand it to Jon - he DID play a new song when the band was inaugerated into the RRHOF, so that's something he seems to stick to. For better or worse.

Regarding the thread - 12 alternate takes? Eh, I dunno. If this was "new unreleased stuff", it'd be easy, but this way, I don't know. Would depend on the songs I guess and how different the takes are after all.

Any song labelled as Bon Jovi without Richie on it can't be Bon Jovi to me. I'm spending my "Bon Jovi time" with the boxset these days.

I’d like a re-release with out takes.
Any album from the first 6 will do - maybe not New Jersey as we’ve had that.

I’m not really interested in a new album.

I voted for a new album.

For me, having those demos of songs we know is nice for the first 1-3 listens (depending on how good it is), but beyond that, an album of new material has a lot more replay-ability, even if it's not good.

Now if I could get outtakes of songs that did not make an album and I (mostly) haven't heard of, that would obviously be my choice. A NJ deluxe-style release for These Days would be ideal. But the way this question was phrased lends to me vote for the new album instead.

.
Id say ive listened to THINFS about 3 times from start to finish.
The only tracks I listen to now and thats not a lot is LWTG, DITT and GBTM

The rest I have no interest in ever hearing again.

I can listen to the boxset, NJ deluxe and early b-sides all day long and have done for many a year.

I've gone for a re-release. Trying to avoid being cynical of any new material but a new album wouldn't excite me now and it'll just be another THiNFS/WAN offering anyway.

A re-release/box set of previous material would be great as more hardcore fans don't get stuff like this often. In the last 15 years we "just" got the box set and New Jersey: Deluxe Edition.

I would particularly like a re-release of a 90's album as that was the least productive decade in terms of the band releasing albums (discounting solo albums) and it's the decade which is sadly largely overlooked in terms of what's on the market. The box set had predominantly 90's tracks on there to make up for it somewhat but I'd love for Keep the Faith and These Days to get the same treatment as New Jersey.
