Default What's Richie's masterpiece ??

I was going to say that Jon's masterpiece is Dry County, but there is a history that Jon came up with a 5 minute song with fantastic lyrics and Richie added the solos and licks which made this song the music orgasm that it is (IMO). So, I will go with Santa Fe. For me, this is the kind of song that requires that one particularly moment of inspiration that a writer has very few times in his career, and there you have it.

As for Richie, what do you consider his masterpiece of songwriting ?

Regards

'Ballad Of Youth' going into 'One Light Burning'. Two incredible songs which fit perfectly and are approximately five/six minutes of pure eargasm.

Yeah, I consider Ballad of Youth an epic song as well. It has a killer intro, a killer melody, fantastic lyrics, and Richie's voice in it is incredible.

Wink

I believe that The Answer and Undiscovered Soul are the most brillant lyrics that Richie wrote. However my favourite of his catalogue is Ballad Of Youth

Ballad of Youth for me! With The Answer being a close second, but I need to be in the mood for that one.

Haha, this song indeed is terrible, but that performance with Craig Ferguson was very nice.

I kinda wonder - if an artist who actually released a shitty song they felt was good enough to be on the album read such a posting, would they pick up on it? And if they did, why the hell was it on the album then?

If somebody tells you a song is the best you ever did and you know it can only be sarcasm, then you also know that it's a shit song.
