When did this occur? I've never heard that story before. Wouldn't suprise me if it's true though.

I don't see the guitar playing being that "country" influenced on LH. The album for me is pretty much a standard Bon Jovi record with some violins, lap steels and some vocal melodies that goes a little more towards the country genre.
The guitar work sounds very much like Richie imo, there's some cool slide work and some acoustic work but that's two tools we know he can use very well. Other than that it sounds very much like Richie. I'm absolutely certain it's Richie playing on that album.

On HAND it's harder to say as it's lacks "soul" and "personality", something I think LH is full of. There's very little guitar work on HAND that really sounds like classic Richie.

Dan Huff has fully admitted he also played guitar on the songs he produced and John Shanks has said similar things. If Shanks were to come out tomorrow and say he played the Acoustic riff of Whole Lot of Leavin' it'd make all the sense in the world.

Jon gave an interview drunkenly in 2006??? I need to see this.

About LH, I'm pretty sure Richie was 100% on that album. I remember that before LH became LH, it was supposed to be an acoustic album of Jon & Richie, not a Bon Jovi album. I also remember that they said that the songs were too good to not involve the band on it, and that's why it turned into a BJ album. (my memories may be confusing, but it was something like that.)

Wow! I have not been on in about 24 hours and this thread has definitely gone down the rabbit hole!

Did anyone watch the red carpet interview clips? Jon mentioned doing these upcoming shows and the going to Japan and Australia, but the clips cut off before he said when they are going there. Charlie Puth is from Rumson and he said the last time he met Jon he was at a restaurant called Barnacle Bill’s. He said Jon was a great guy.

It's not about a magical fix, it's about the most practical one. Nothing can get fixed by not accepting that it was Jon PLUS Richie that made the machine run.

Eh, Jon's performance wasn't that bad. Mind you it wasn't good either, but I was bracing myself for a lot worse after reading all the comments. (Maybe my standards have just gotten too low but y'all can be the judge of that.)

I did see Jon casually mention touring Australia and Japan...
