Thumbs up Bon Jovi - New album to be loud rock album!

Jon has wrote a letter on BSWJBJ updating us on what he's been up to since they finished the tour and the best bit for me was Jon announcing the new album is to be a rock album and loud at that

I spent August getting fat and lazy, not wanting to even think about work. It lasted until September when that knock came to my door and to my head. It said "write you fool, Richie is bored and you are not the stay at home kind of dad as all of the neighbors are". So, I went off to Los Angeles and we started. As of now we're 12 songs into it. I'm very pleased. In case you're wondering, it's a rock record. A big loud one. John Shanks is set to produce again and we'll begin the demo process right after I ship the reindeer and sleigh back to the attic, I mean North Pole.

Good news, even though Jon has called every record (Crush, Bounce, Have A Nice Day) "a big, loud, rock record." Let's hope this time it turns out to be true.

I'd move this to the new releases forum...

That's a combination that isn't possible. And like JBJEveryday has said, Jon has said that every Bon Jovi album is a big loud rock record. I'll believe it when I hear it.

Salaam Aleikum,

The use of Shanks again worries me. My gut is telling me that we will end up with yet another safe, middle of the road type album, not pushing the envelope or barriers at all.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the majority of HAND but I think it's time to move away from the type of record it, Crush and Bounce were. It's time for something fresh and no, I don't mean TLFR or "stick some steel guitar on it and call it fresh and new" Lost Highway style either.

Yeah i agree, i wasn't to sure with Shanks producing it again! Loved HAND but this decade has seen a very similar style of albums excluding LH obviously!

Nah, LH is still the same style of album, just more songs in the vein of Who Says.

Any Other Day, Whole Lot Of Leavin, and Walk Like A Man I love. The rest of the album I can take or leave. I enjoy Memory on the album but live, it bored me to tears.

Which brings me to another point, please no more duets!!

I just hope they'll write more songs, then just 13-14 and conclude the album cause if they have more songs, ofc there's a bigger chance that the album will be better, but they became rather lazy these days

I know it'll be a couple of years (since LH I mean) by the time it's actually released, but boy, it seems so soon to be hearing about a new album already!
