Default The Official Elvis Thread

Anyone else here love the King Of Rock And Roll?

I was very into him when I was just a lil (cute?) kid in Year 6 I had this really awesome book that detailed what he did each day of his life, but I've lost it and haven't found it since

Well, I've got things to do at the moment, but I'll add more to this thread later because Elvis was like the first musical artist I ever got obsessed with so I need to write lots about him.

Aloha !

I've always thought Elvis was overrated. Didn't write his own songs, couldn't play guitar apart from 3 chords. He had a good voice, but that's all there was really. The rest was just a hype.

Love the signature, it's probably what Elvis would've looked like by now.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

I've come across some people who still see him as a bigger legend than Jacko, so there must be something there....I just can't see it myself.

Over-rated beyond belief. Never liked his music and the guy could not sing at all in my opinion.

Saying that he couldn't sing is just ignorant. he can, you just don't like his style...

It's the same as people saying Jon couldn't sing in 2003. Taken out of context.

I'll take you out of context in a minute and then put you back in it with your body parts in different places.

I'd pick MJ over Elvis any day of the week, any hour of the day, and minute of the hour, and second of the minute... you see... but there's no doubt, in my mind, that Elvis was WAY bigger than him.

Happy birthday Elvis Would be 75 today.

Man, I just ****ing love this man. My Springsteen before Springsteen.

Was watching a show on BBC4 about him last night called "Elvis By The Presleys". I have the book so it's nothing I didn't know before, but still very interesting.

Also, in other Elvis news. I bought a new guitar strap a couple weeks ago and it was a totally rockin' Elvis one. I'll upload a picture at some point because it's just so sexy...like Elvis himself, and his damn fine spitting-image of a daughter.

And because, y'know, he was like one of the world's greatest, if not the greatest, performers? Better than MJ <_>
