Default Random BJ thoughts
Hi:
I've been listening to BJ CDs other than Bounce recently (something new I can tell you) and I've had some thoughts about some of the stuff I've listened to.
1.Hey God is like one long guitar solo with a couple spots for lyrics. I really like the song and it seems like every time Jon stops singing, there's another solo.
2.My Guitar Lies Bleeding... Why does this sound like the title to a Beatle's song to me? 2 great solos in this one. I really like this song.
3.If That's What It Takes has really good lyrics, almost up there with Bounce in terms of lyrics (to me at least). Yet another good solo, but it seems flatter sounding.
4.Next 100 Years has solos from every member of the band I think. Great drums, one of the best guitar solos, good keyboard. This sounds like The Distance before The Distance. At least to me.
5.Just Older has a great guitar solo. I had to listen to my computer copy of this song because tracks 6&7 on Crush have left us. I think I'll play this at my 18th birthday party.
6.The Distance has really good background music. I'm not saying its good background music, I'm saying that if you listen behind the lyrics the music is great. Really soaring sounding.
7.Misunderstood has really good drums. I like the single mix better, where they add in the extra chorus part and fade out the I's. Also the electronic sounds are cool, especially right before the 3rd chorus.
8.I really need to have a friend return my copy of Keep The Faith.
Please comment on the above thoughts.

Actually, it's rubbish. Richie doesn't play anything but a few easy pulloffs that sound out of key. Terrible solo, worst one on the album... Only good part is the ending.

Don't say ANY thing remotly suicidal when it concerns music! Bon Jovi will be in court faster than you can say sumbliminal messages! Boards have ears...or something

yah..the song title reminds me of the Beatles song "While my guitar gently weeps"..at least i THINK thats the title..

He's dead right...

many of Richie's solos have just involved octaving simple melodies... or fast repicking of notes...

Neurotica had a good solo

and the guitar work on if i could make a living wasn't masterful or anything, but much more like the old "riffing" Richie

i like just older, but IMO i think its OVERRATED
