Default Background vocals?

I was listening to a bootleg from the Have A Nice Day tour and on the chorus of Livin' On A Prayer you can hear Jon's studio vocals in the background. Did the band use this in case Jon's vocals were poor that night or...?

I unfortunately think so... Soon we have these Britney Spears shows where Jon only yells few lines on choruses. The rest comes from the tape...
His voice was much better in LH and HAND tours than Bounce but still I think that in the future we're gonna see those acoustic sets more than we've used to. Watching those videos for example Lie To Me from earlier this summer in England. Those high notes sound horrific. More of those easy and safety hits like Sleep, Medicine and so on... And less of these rare and challenging songs like Livin In Sin, Wild Is The Wind and soon even Prayer... Well of course we have that great acoustic version......
So....looking forward.

Lie To Me sounded great. Jon did well in Bristol on that song I thought.

Well at least the end where he's singing "ye, ye, ye, ye, ye, ye, yeaaa... That sounds pretty bad. There are same kind of parts in Livin in Sin... he have just given up singing those parts... Again in the end where it goes bombastic if you will, in the best part of the song, he sings nothing, just Richie and guys whispering "livin in sii'in".... They just don't do those little things which I think make those songs so magical... These Days without harmonica, Always without that great end(Wembley95), IBTFY without that screaming before last chorus, Dry County without that speach before Richie's solo, Sleep without that thrilling chorus and of course Lay Your Hands On me without Dave's and Tico's intro. And I can go on and on but I won't.....

The 'whoa - Livin' On A Prayer' part. I alwasy thought it was Richie, David, Hugh, Bobby and Lorenza singing it.

MrIks from Finland - On Livin' In Sin, are you talking about the scream bit that he doesn't attempt? If so, that's good because if he tried that he wouldn't be able to sing again

Yeah I though that because it's the only one I've heard. Thanks Seb

Well Jon loses his voice halfway through one of the choruses, but I see your point
