Default Bon Jovi "Fan Album": Burning Bridges, Out 21 Aug.

Burning Bridges is Bon Jovi’s thirteenth studio album. Produced by John Shanks, it was released on August 21, 2015, through Mercury Records (USA), Island Records (Europe), and Barclay Music (France) in vinyl, CD, and as a digital download. Burning Bridges should not be confused with This House Is Not For Sale, the fourteenth studio album that will be released in Q1 2016.

Though we thought it could be a b-sides and outtakes compilation, John Shanks confirmed that they recorded all the songs for this album and that it has a “fresh rock” sound. Jon Bon Jovi added “it’s songs that weren’t finished, that were finished, and a couple of new ones”.

Should be noted that this record serves both as a fan album and as a final "ciao" to UMG (Universal Music Group), as the band cutted ties with Mercury Records after 32 years: "the traditional model didn't work out for me anymore", Jon said.

The album was delivered in a brown paperbag, that serves as the cover.

Burning Bridges can now be bought on iTunes, Amazon, Microsoft Store, Wallmart, CDJapan, and other stores. The Japanese/Wallmart edition will have one inedite song as a bonus track: "Take Back The Night". It can also be bought on lossless format at 44.1 kHz and 24 bits on HD Tracks, and streamed for free on Spotify.

The physical version of the album doesn't include any lyrics (with exception of the Japanese version that comes with a separate lyrics booklet), credits, interviews, nor pictures. Music credits can be found under the music section of the Bon Jovi website.

Singles

Two songs were released as digital singles on July 31, 2015: “Saturday Night Gave Me Sunday Morning” and “We Don’t Run”. The first one was a draft from The Circle era finished for this album; while the second one is a new song written for Burning Bridges. A live video for “We Don’t Run” was released on September 22, 2015 with footage from the Jakarta and Bangkok concerts.

Also, so far the band has released other three songs: “A Teardrop To The Sea”, “Blind Love” (both Aug. 7), and “I’m Your Man” (Aug. 14). A fan listening event organized by Universal took place on Aug, 14.

Lyrics and credits

All the lyrics and credits of the album have been uploaded to Bon Jovi's official website. Alternatively, you can download a Microsoft Word document with all the lyrics from here, too. The main thread for lyrics discussion can be accessed from here.

If you're the kind of fan that likes to read the lyrics while listening to the song, you might want to give it a try to the official lyrics video that were uploaded to the Bon Jovi and BonJoviVEVO channel on YouTube:

TV Spots

Bon Jovi Live! (2015)

Bon Jovi Live! Is the band’s upcoming Asia tour. Though Jon Bon Jovi first said that this tour was just “an excuse to see the guys”, then he said that it’s the one that will support the new record.

So far, the confirmed dates are:Note 6: Gigs in Shangai and Beijing were cancelled with no reason given. Possibly banned by Chinese authorities due to support of Dalai Lama.
Note 7: The Taiwan concerts were cancelled due to the typhoon Dujuan hitting the country that day.

You can click on the dates to go to the official threads of those gigs.

Looks like the new album is referred to as "a fan album" by the powers that be: first UMG and now Island:

August 21st, @BonJovi will release their fan album "Burning Bridges." Read more at @Billboard: http://billboard.com/articles/news/6...jovi-fan-album

Amazon listed the album as an Island Records release but several articles + an official link say Republic Records (which is also the label that released "Finding Neverland"). Both belong to UMG.

Check the "song" links on the OP, those are the highest quality available. The first is a Ö3 Hitradio rip of Sunday Morning and the second is the 256kbps official audio of We Don't Run from Republic Records.

I really thought the new record was going to be with another producer. That's sad.

Just checked the Shanks' twitter. He didn't answer the question about being producer for BB and the new album

His "jep" was the answer to "@dewilvb @DadoRockWhirirk yes, we'll never get another TD, is this the track with @johnshanks1 on guitar.......?"

Is this whole "we don't give a sh**" attitude, no communication, no artwork (brown paper bag), no lyrics, nobody knows anything etc., maybe just a fun new Marketing tool to create attention / a viral buzz?
We don't Run is too catchy and too good for just not caring 'bout or Jon distancing himself from Burning Bridges.
OR they want to make us at least buy tickets for spring 2016..

All new?? didn't jon himself say at the trip at least saturday night is from 8 to 10 years ago??? They are maybe redone and new recorded but really new??? What's the point of releasing a "fan record" with new songs before the "real"record with new songs next year?? Or do I missunderstand something here??
