I really like Phil & think he's a very good guitarist....BUT, I also think his lack of attachment to the songs shows. I think he's technically better than Richie ever was, but RS on the top of his game was a more polished, rounded guitarist.

Also, to my humble ears, Phil sometimes bends notes out of tune and is either slightly ahead or even sometimes behind the beat.

I prefer guitars with a FR too.

Yeah, noticed that with the bends, too, though it only happens rarely. The only thing I really don't like that much is the way he plays the Prayer solo (he speeds it up at the second time it goes down, whereas Richie played it more to the beat)...

Almost out of tune. It's something he uses a lot for some reason, Eddie Van Halen and Randy Rhoads used to do that a LOT!!! I would imagine if Eddie Van Halen started playing songs originally by Eric Clapton it would have the same effect in our ears.

In my opinion Phil struggled more with the bluesy Bon Jovi songs, but I'm really satisfied with his last performance of These Days. This Ain't A Love Song is on one he needs more pratice but he really nailed Hey God the only time he played. Like he said, Hey God was a blast.

Unfortunately Jon's vocals on that one Hey God performance were atrocious. I personally don't think he needs to practice them more often because I seriously doubt they'll ever perform these tracks again. Maybe with a lot of luck These Days, but that'll be it.

Yes based on the setlists of this tour, I don't see that either.
