Default Does Jon have dementia?

Okay so I was with a friend who is a doctor, and I went on a bit of a deep dive of Bon Jovi with them and he made a comment that made a lot of sense to me.

Does Jon Bon Jovi have dementia?

This decline isn't just not hitting high notes. Jon is literally not in time with the music, at all. Say what you want, but it is shockingly bad. It's like he doesn't know how his own songs go. I can understand a declining voice- but to play entire shows where your timing is off for well over half the show? Whats going on here?

My friend seems to think he might have dementia or some sort of brain issue. Even on stage he looks off, doesn't even look like he knows how to move around or dance or anything.

Has this been discussed at all? I can't seem to find anything on it.

I think it's a long shot to say he has dementia, but you do have a point there.
It's clear he isn't concentrating on stage, but we can't be sure if it's because he can't, or just doesn't care to. Either way I feel bad for him, I think it'd be best if he retired from touring and did occasional shows in smaller venues, sort of like the annual Count Basie concerts in the 90s.

Yeah this feels like way long shot simply based on his timing being off but I don't know enough about vocal cords to know how far off it is. It's almost like he can't produce the sounds fast enough to keep up with the time but until there's more symptoms of dementia it feels like a reach

"It's clear he isn't concentrating on stage, but we can't be sure if it's because he can't, or just doesn't care to. "

I very much disagree with this, you can tell in his face he knows he's doing a bad job. There's no option now but to keep going. Cancelling the rest will be insurance hell and disappointing what's left. The tour really should not have happened at all.

I don't know this, but I see Jon quite lucid and sane when he is giving a speech or interview. If he really had dementia I think we would notice something in that sense.

Maybe! This is just speculation anyway.

I don't think dementia but I've said for a while, I do think he had some sort of mini stroke.

My mum and dad come round on Sunday to my house and I had YouTube on and randomly the recent performance of We Don't Run acoustic come on and it was when Jon was talking before the performance (TV was on really low at this point) but both of them asked what was up with the left side of his face and said he doesn't look well at all.

This is someone they've grew up seeing, looking great but their reaction made me realize that he doesn't look great. Age is obviously a factor but his left side of his face has dropped a little. Whether that's solely down to age, I don't know.

The stroke theory actually makes a whole damn lot of sense.

You'd probably notice it a lot more if he still had the 1992 set of pipes, as the slurred vowel intonation have been part of his vocal style for a while now. But yeah, the timing issues sound like he's constantly tired or not concentrated at all, which I kinda doubt.

But then again, he can speak just fine.

I think the simplest answer is that he has gotten older and lost the ability to sing.

That doesn't explain the timing issues though - it's got to be something else. Maybe something akin to what Bruce Willis has announced that he has?
