Aloha !

So, has anyone seen it? I went with my brother and we've had some discussions in regards to what he deems plotholes and I deem things open for interpretation. How do you feel about it? I really liked it, it's made me want to watch the Alien movies again.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

I loved it! I just got the Alien boxset on bluray so will probably watch through them - or I might go and watch Prometheus again first!

I know it's got a lot of mixed reviews, to each their own of course - but I agree with you, in that what many people call plot-holes I just see as questions that are left to our imagination (or a new series of sequels).

It shares a lot with the original Alien, in the way that the mood is set, the suspense, the terror (which is well portrayed by some of the actors) but it also has it's own story to tell, it's more than just an origin story for Alien.

I can't wait to see it!! It's out tomorrow here.

One quick question though, I rarely watch any movie in 3D, but I am curious what could be done with this type of movie, how would you guys rate the its use of 3D???

I thought it was great. Michael Fassbender is excellent in it. It's such a stunning film to watch, the direction and cinematography are second to none. I was surprised it was so scary too.

The people I went to see it with were bitching about the "plot holes" and I said pretty much what Supersonic and Thomas said. Ridley Scott is a legendary film maker, if there were unanswered questions then he meant it to be that way.

Javier, I chose to see it in 2D because I think 3D spoils most films so I can't really answer you question, but I don't think it was shot in 3D so I can't see it adding anything.

I didn't necessarily see them as plotholes. There were just a few things which mattered to me for the story that hardly got any attention and were just taken for granted. Good movie but I wasn't shocked nor thrilled by it. I'll save that moment for July 20, when Batman hits the cinema

I salute you,
TS

I love 3D generally anyway - if it's done properly, anyway - and this is a great example of it! Since it was shot specifically for 3D, it works very well, and it does exactly what 3D should do in a film; it adds an extra level of depth. There are no cheesy moments where things leap out into the camera for no reason, it's all just a film shot in 3D.

I've seen some pretty poor conversions - Clash of the Titans being prime example - but I've also seen other instances where the 3D was handled very well and really added something. The best I've probably seen yet was Toy Story 3 on IMAX 3D, that worked very well, and I look forward to seeing The Hobbit because I'm sure Peter Jackson will do a great job with it (though how the 3D will work with some of the perspective tricks will be interesting to see).

Good movie. Fastbender was great but I thought the lead actress was awful. Charliez Theron on the other hand is an amazing actress and the most beautiful person that's ever lived. That's what I mainly enjoyed!
