Were there any signs in the media? This came out of the blue to me.

Rest in peace. A great part of the band's history.

I don't think the media has had much to say about Alec since 1994.

What a great way of summing up his input.

I never had the chance to see him live as I was only seven when he left, but it's fair to say that Bon Jovi wouldn't be Bon Jovi without his influence. RIP, Alec.

Aloha !

Jon Bon Jovi will really miss the guy he's had 2 conversations with in the past 30 years. It'd have been nice if Alec would've given some interviews but I reckon he's signed NDA's a long time ago.

I'd say if you've got to ask chances are the answer is irrelevant anyway.

Salaam Aleikum,

I never got to see Alec live but I would say he was a better performer and singer while Hugh is probably more technically proficient. Though I'm not a bass player and can't really tell the difference tbh.

Very sad news indeed, RIP Alec. I'm glad he was able to attend the Hall of Fame ceremony and enjoy that moment.

Alec was absolutely integral to the band. And a colourful personality too. RIP
