Default Just wondering...

i have been wondering about this for the last couple of days so i decided to post it now:

which song/album/band has influenced you the most. or which do you connect with special memories/events?
how did it affect the way you live, or the way you treat other people?

thanks for answering

The first rock band that I've listened was Deep Purple (I was 10 years old). It's inspired me to make a band with my friends, covering DP's song.
I was a lead vocalist, and Smoke On The Water was my fave song.
That's a great moment of my teenagers.
Deep Purple is one of the living legend~classic rock~band.

AH ! it's interesting, i was asking that myself to a "friend" yesterday evening
I was saying one of the song i like so much ("it's so easy"- see my signature) makes me think about someone each time i hear it. But really stronger, you know that gives me goose pimples !
and when i hear 'la grange" zztop, it reminds me the night me and my boy friend won the election of the best harley davidson ! nice memory too !
theres some more happy or not ...
"but when i'm down and feeling blue, i close my eyes so i can be with you ..." it's a song we were laughing about with my bf, but now, i'm alone to remember this, cause hes dead now and this song is exactely what i think, and i love it now ... strange ...
But i really feel music, its so important in my life, that's maybe why i can connect so much events in my life with thousands of songs

that's a good story Jess... good songs too...

for me it is:

Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here/Led Zeppelin III because those two albums got me into playing guitar - or at least made me first branch out into classic rock and the great guitarists...

the Scorpions song "Life Liked A River" got me through my whole A-level course - from about xmas 2001/2 until june i listened to this song at least once every day...

the whole these days album - especially it's hard letting you go - not because of the lyrics or anything soppy, but just because i think it is a beautiful song, and it reminds me of the whole 1995/96 time of my life.

other than that actually going to concerts to hear the music live have been the most important things for me: G3 1998, BJ 1996, Springsteen 99, DP 2002 have all been so important in shaping me as a person.

That really is a hard one....

I'd possiably say it was Space Truckin'. Probably a lame reason, but the Deep Purple shows last year saw a call back for this song. I'd never seen it before, and it was without any doubt the most exciting 5 mins of my entire life. I've never quite experianced anything as intense as that, and I'm sure I'll never forget that feeling.

Other than that, I suppose on of the most important to me is Highway Star, because it's the song I virtually learnt to play rock organ from; Hoe Down by ELP, because it's really difficult, and I can play it note perfect! Genesis - Driving the Last Spike - this is the first song I can ever remember hearing (first from a rock band in anycase), so it has sentimental value, plus when you listen to the lyrics, the song still really means something....

I always feel like bursting into tears when I hear Clapton's Tears in Heaven, I suppose this has provoked me in the past to look at what I have got, and really makes one think about the importance of family, and the ones we love......

Then again, i'm trying to work on a prog rock album at the moment, basically a musical version of Shakespeare's Richard III. Ok, protension I know, but the insperations behind this were Rick Wakemans 6 wives of Henry VIII, and ELP's, Tarkus. So I suppose these are directly influencing my music the most at the moment!
