What do you think? Why the band do what they do right now? From the band's point of view.

I'm not quite sure what you mean, but if you mean why have the band changed their music style a bit, I'd say it's to reflect them as the people they are now rather than to become more popular.

Indeed Bon Jovi is very wise. While still keeping their old fans from the Slippery/NJ eras, they are also drawing younger people to the shows who may not be aware of their past music. Bon Jovi is one of the only bands to ever make such a dramatic change in their music style, and for that they should be commended. They've been dealt their cards and have played them well (Face it, you don't see a bunch of 50 year olds going to a Nelly concert or a bunch of young teens going to a Barry Manilow performance).
