Saw this during the week. Very impressed by the movie and by the music within it. Lady Gaga can sing (and write a song). The song "I'll never love again" at the end of the movie is stunning. I was really impressed by Bradley Cooper too.

This is the 4th remake - I have seen every version previously and really like the Judy Garland version. Ultimately - I know how it ends - do I really need another remake?

It is remarkable to know that this movie has been remade so many times. I had not seen any of the previous versions of the movie and did not know how the movie ended so that caught me completely off guard. I was really pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the musical numbers in this movie. I'm not a fan of Lady Gaga's music (or persona) so I guess I ended up enjoying the music despite my expectations.

The 1937 Janet Gaynor A Star is Born is original in name only. It was a remake of the 1932 movie What Price Hollywood with Constance Bennett -- which nearly resulted in a plagiarism lawsuit! VERY few people know that -- way to go, Kathleen!

Based on the advertising, I think this the best-LOOKING remake of the bunch -- Bradley Cooper definitely chose the right cinematographer. But also based on the advertising, I have to say that Lady Gaga HAS met my expectations. Unlike her predecessors Judy Garland and Barbara Streisand, neither her looks nor her vocal chops stand out enough for me to find her story of popularity and success WITHOUT a "persona" to be plausible.

Blame it on late night TV with my parents in the 50s and early 60s. I only got to stay up late if I watched their movies - quietly LOL

My girlfriend dragged me to see this movie and I ended up liking it more than her. Bradly Cooper did a fantastic job. Gaga was ok at acting but phenomenal at the singing parts.

The soundtrack is amazing and the cast did a great job. The movie itself I found just OK, the story felt underdeveloped in some ways and 'too hollywood' in others.

I am really surprised by the fact that Bohemian Rhapsody, aside from factual inaccuracies, was just a much stronger drama film.

Remake or not, this was my favorite movie of 2018.
