Would Bon Jovi be here now if it wasnt for a successful release of the Slippery When Wet album?

Their worldwide sales of the first two CDs were enough to allow them to not only keep recording, but also to tour on a worldwide scale. Even if they had just kept the pace of the first two, they would have been around a while. Not every act that stays around forever has mega-selling albums. Some just have steady followings.

I doubt it - Thats the album that threw them into the limelight. Without Slippery, there wouldn't have been New Jersey. No-one would have gone to see the shows....

they've often said that SWW was a make or break album. without that i think they would have folded.

would anyone know nirvana if it wasn't for the release of nevermind?
(this is just one of the examples. because despite the death of cobain, nirvana still sell like crazy, at least here.)

no way.

Bon Jovi was not exactly well known at the 7800 time. Just another hairband.

In fact, I don't think they would still be around (in this magnitude) if they didn't cut their hair and sobered up. They'd be another freak-roadshow.

yes SWW saved and made them IMO...Crush in a smaller scale helped BJ bounce back after the 5 yrs absence and shoved them back into the limelight.

I think that they would have tried again, but without Slippery When Wet I doubt they'd have been as successful as they have been.
