Tommy Lee has some swing like most "old school" drummers. Wouldn't want anyone from Motley Crue to contribute anything lyrically. Richie has all the ingredients here: Time, Heartbreak, Freedom, a great producer, choice to pick his collabs etc. All onus is on him now to create something great from a musical standpoint. I really wish he gets some good singers as well for a couple of songs for some variety. I liked what Mark Morton [Lamb of God] did with his recently released solo album [picking his peers/influences to guest on every track].

Huh? He's a killer drummer. That's all that matters...

Also Tommy's solo album Never A Dull Moment was fantastic and far removed from the 80s...as was his Methods of Mayhem stuff...but as Cap said, it's not like he'd have any input in anything other than drum parts if it's a Richie album...

Yeah it sounds like you're more worried being around Tommy is going to force Richie to relapse. No one is without sin and mistakes, I just want him working with talented people and he needs to rely on himself to not be influenced by anyone.

Thanks for posting the entire interview; so I can see Richie more serious moments... if he has already a title for the album I guess the album is taking shape; about the title... usually songwriters write about their life, in this case the title sounds upsidedown, kinda interesting.

Yeah, it sounded to me like a take on the quote "we write the soundtracks for people's lives" that he uses a lot, except in his case it's kinda reversed and the songwriting has shaped his life, or something. At any rate, I think it's promising because it sounds introspective and hopefully reflects where he is now and how he got there.

Looks like this site, along with those that were linked in the other Richie Sambora thread, cannot even be reached from Europe

Best of all, it seems to have a focused album. I'm more excited about this one than with the new Jovi album, I just hope, as I said on another occasion, not to delay the matter too long.
