Default Question About Festivals(Sao Paulo Trip/RiR)

Do they(or other popular bands) play shorter sets than usual, cuz of other bands playing as well?

Do they bring their A game here?

Setlist-wise, the hits? Or will Bon Jovi treat this as THINFS tour and play most of the songs from there?

Also, Brazil guys, which is better- Rock in Rio or Sao Paulo Trip?

MANY THANKS!

Technically, the headliner is allowed to play as long as they want. But BJ usually don't do extraordinary long shows on festivals. A little over 2 hours is a realistic expectation I guess.

Setlist-wise it's usually quite safe and very close to the tour set, so look at what got played on the past US leg of the THINFS tour.

And their A game? They did bring it, but I don't know if Jon has one anymore

Understandable I guess. But as much as I like THINFS songs compared to WAN, I hope they wont play most songs there, but then again, I bet Brazilians know and love every song from that album by now. I heard they are the ultimate crazy fans of classic rock bands.

Not really, most festivals do have an allotted amount of time, even for the headliner, as there is normally a curfew that dictates the the loud music has to be finished by a certain time...If it's overrun a hefty fine can be charged to the promoters from local councils.

Rock In Rio is better because of the vast options and other performers, SP Trip will be a much, much smaller festival.

Thanks. But if I want just Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Guns, Sao Paulo Trip is a better choice? RiR, to watch Bon Jovi, I have to watch other bands all day long right?

Well, in both festivals the three bands are in different days. I think it comes down to cost and which other bands you rather watch, and if you prefer a smaller festival or a bigger one many more people. I don't know if you can get a good place if you don't watch the other bands, as I have never been to one, and I'm not a fan of big festivals myself.

I am going to SP Trip just because I live in São Paulo. But I would rather see a Bon Jovi only gig.
