Has anyone asked them to drop it? I think most thought the song was about heroin.
It’s a song about slavery not a racist name for a black person.
But that’s the world today.
Paint in black will now be known as paint it green

I considered buying a ticket but last performance I saw wasn't very good. It mostly resolved around Mick Jagger trying to keep everything together while Keith Richards fell asleep half the time. I can't make it to half the gigs either as I'll be abroad so I guess this is it for me when it comes to the Rolling Stones. I really feel they should've stopped when they hit 50.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

I have seen some current YouTubes where they really sounded good. However, I've never seen a full concert performance.

Default Hackney Diamonds

New album Hackney Diamonds released October 20th 2023;

https://www.nme.com/en_asia/news/mus...amonds-3493184

1. "Angry"
2. "Get Close"
3. "Depending On You"
4. "Bite My Head Off"
5. "Whole Wide World"
6. "Dreamy Skies"
7. "Mess It Up"
8. "Live by the Sword"
9. "Driving Me Too Hard"
10. "Tell Me Straight"
11. "Sweet Sounds of Heaven"
12. "Rolling Stone Blues"

It’s the first original studio album by the band in 18 years since 2005’s A Bigger Bang. Wasn’t expecting such a thing by them anymore based on how long it’s been, coupled with Mick Jaggers apprehension over releasing new music.

I haven’t listened to A Bigger Bang since it came out really but I remember their 2012 single “Doom and Gloom” (taken from their then-latest compilation album) being a really cool track that sounded classic Stones yet felt fresh and edgy, proving that a band their age could still write good songs. Will see how it goes.

Doom and Gloom is fantastic, it's always on my random list.

I also liked Living With a Ghost Town. Excited for what's to come.

Great song. Probably better than any of the “new” songs written for Forty Licks. Not that those songs were bad or anything.

Honestly, I thought the Stones were well and truly done as a studio album band but any new material is always appreciated.

Snippet of the lead single “Don’t Get Angry With Me”.

And even more than anything else, The Stones show how excitement is created and how promotion is done.
