Any fans of these guys out there? I think they're pretty damn good. My favorite of theirs right now is probably Perfect Situation, Ruling Me, or I Want You To. They're perfect to listen to if you just want something to rock out to. They seem fantastic live, too.

The video for Keep Fishin' is one of the best I've seen in my life, methinks.

I've only got one song in my library from them, "Beverly Hills." I'll definitely check out the songs you mentioned above, always been curious about these guys but haven't checked them out.

I'm a HUGE Weezer fan, bordering on die hard actually. Rivers Cuomo is a genius songwriter, an absolute egomaniacal lunatic, but a genius songwriter. Really the only records I don't care for are The Red Album and Maladroit, and even those have several tracks I like. For the record, anyone interested in Weezer should really check out River's Edge: The Weezer Story by John Luerssen. It only goes up to the Maladroit period, but it's one of the best rock books I've ever read.

Actually, thinking about it, there are a lot of odd similarities between Bon Jovi and Weezer career-wise.

So The Good Life is quickly becoming one of my favorite songs by them. My main gripe with the band is song length. I know that quality matters over quantity, but some songs feel like they really could be much better if they had that extra verse, solo, etc.

Late reply, but what do you mean by this? I can't really think of any similarities, other than the fact that they've both replaced bassists.

Gotta say, the Blue Album is ****ing phenomenal. Every song is so good. Pinkerton and Make Believe are close seconds.

My relationship with this band is weird. On one hand I totally love the music, but on the other, I also find them so incredibly boring live....

Everything is there, the sound is mostly good, they're all on key, nothing is really wrong, it's just, bland.....

Massive early success with era defining singles and videos (SWW/NJ for Jovi, Blue Album for Weezer), detour into a deeply personal album that's adored by a majority of the fan-base but was recived very coldly in the US (These Days for Bon Jovi, Pinkerton for Weezer), which led both to achieve success by returning to (and camps in both fan bases would argue dumbing down to) a poppier sound (everything both bands have done since 2000)
